^ If it's been on continuous tax or SORN for more than five years, the plate can be removed. As I understand it, that means no change of keeper in that time. There was a note about the vehicle needing to be able to move under it's own power if they decide to inspect it. Ah, gotcha. Thanks for the clarification.

well you can't have the plate - its up for sale That plate still seems to be allocated to that car so without an mot I can't see how they'd get it off to sell it? I thought if a plate was on retention it wouldn't show as allocated to a vehicle? The plate business has always confused me, lol I think they're being a tad optimistic with the price though, you could get a dateless 2x2 for that price.

Is that including having a black box fitted? That can bring it down a fair whack. As can parking off street, ideally garaged overnight but I'm guessing you know that already.
Fwiw it's not just the young 'uns that are getting nailed right now. Most of the keyless entry stuff is feeling the clout. we changed cars last year and when the renewal came up, the insurance wrote to us to say they weren't offering to renew. 57 with 7 years no claims living in a good postcode, car garaged overnight. Makes me feel like a teen again.

Interesting ! Be good to see how you get on with this. Liking the back doors. James Me too! It would be cool to open one and pull out a bottle of milk and some eggs

In the services. The jacked up on had a v8 and mk2 escort front end. Shame cos the Bedford is a nicer looking van. That'll be the 'Baldy' van. Top show car in its day.

Interesting, certainly not a regular factory model. Looks very well done. Intriguing! It's a p-chop as mentioned in the other thread it was posted in. It's very well done though! All is revealed in the comments section of the original source :-)

I did a set of MGB ones a while back now for an old boy who sells classics. Similar condition to that originally and I had also pondered which way round to do them. If I remember right I did the black first as it was easier to mask the curves out. I think I did the black in a basecoat so that when the silver was applied I could unmask the black and 2K clearcoat the full rim. Looks like your rims would probably be easier to do the black first I imagine but it's all down to whatever you feel best doing.

£3.5k ... If those triangles are vinyl could be a bargain. I reckon they are vinyl as they weren't on it in this pic by Spottedlaurel from a while back on flickr...

A very famous car indeed. And a very special one. It couldn't be in better hands than Dave Shutten - he's restored many a show rod. I know Steve had been hankering for years about getting it back but was having all sorts of problems. He was living in Hawaii last time I spoke to him. I'll see if I can get him to join and regale some of his stories. A very interesting guy indeed. Galpin also own the Hirohata Merc too. They have quite a stable... Eta: I've spoken to him but apart from his very busy schedule he also gets debilitating migraines lately. Shame.

IT generated I'm thinking? CGI rather than AI I would imagine (that's a mouthful!) More images here.

I still have no 'like' button available but in the grand scheme of things, I can live without it
