I really like that. I would love a special in that kind of style. I had planned on something vaguely similar with my Ford Model Y, funnily enough using a Reliant engine and gearbox as I rate them very highly in a lightweight car, but life’s events conspired against me and I sold the car on before I’d even started.
I was recently very tempted by a mid 30s Morris 8 rolling chassis which would have made a splendid basis for such a thing, but I’m trying to get rid of projects, not take more on. 🤣

Thats a really cool little car. And I learned today that Austin 7 and reliant parts are interchangeable. Yes, up to a point. The first Reliants used Austin 7 running gear. The later all-alloy OHV engines are a Reliant design, but based around the architecture of the cast iron sidevalve Austin ones.

The whole series of engines from one to the other was the original basis for the 750MC racing series which now includes all sorts of classes for all sorts of cars.
