I didn't realise that the deeper guides on the new Sierra RS500 and E30 M3 that I bought mean that they won't run on my Classic track. Any ideas on what are the best guides to replace them with, please? I have some spare guides from some old (1990s) Porsche 962Cs, will they fit OK?

Ibis in Stratford might be good? Easy to get a bus or tube to a big Asda store in Leyton, and also to a Tesco in Bow. Stratford is probably the best-connected station in London for transport.

If anyone is looking for some cars, Hawkin's Bazaar have some half-price deals. I got a Sierra Cosworth RS500 and BMW E30 M3 today for £19.99 each, and they also had a Mini, Mk1 Cortina, Aston Martin DBR9 and a few others. A few of these are out of stock on their website, but in stock at some stores. Worth checking out if you have one nearby.

So I've set up a circuit and taken a few photos. Sorry aficionados, but this is the slot car equivalent to Thomas The Tank Engine whizzing around the dining room table So no scenery, not even any barriers or borders... From the start, heading into the chicane... Into the esses chicane, which has to be an esses to avoid the guitar stand... Through the esses... Exiting the chicane, into the straight between the bookcase and the armchair, then into a 90 right under the footstool... And into the first crossover, into another 90 right... And another 90 right over the chair leg... A sweeping left into the skid chicane... Over the skid chicane into a long left... And into a 180 right... And over the second crossover... Into a last 90 right, back to the start.

One day, Ford will see sense and make the 021c. I have a feeling I won't be on the planet when it eventually happens, though.

You're more than welcome. I'd never have had a clue if I hadn't had a Mk3 myself, mind you

I believe this is a Futura bodykit, this car used to live in East London and once pulled up next to me (when I had my 2.0) at the Moby Dick in Romford. If you join the Mk3 and Scorpio group on Facebook, the previous owner is on there (or at least was).

Just snagged a big box of classic track off Gumtree, including a Le Mans start and a 180 degree chicane, for £25 I've had a proper look at what I've got, and I've actually got far too much! Just in standard curves, I've got enough for three full circles, two full circles in 'chicane' curves, and it must be at least two dozen straights.

Not classic related (unless a 911 counts) but the wife got me one of those supercar driving experiences. A couple of hours in a Ferrari, Audi, Lamborghini, Aston Martin or Porsche.

After a while I came up with the idea of making bodyshells of cars that nobody else made, and designed a chassis to make the tail sliding even better. I did a steering system which followed the guide so when the back wheels slide out it looks like the driver is winding on opposite lock. The chassis also had suspension so they leaned realistically in corners too, as my cars weren't racers but inspired by chases from old TV programmes. These are awesome! Do you have a website, or do you build them to order?

I know someone that might be very interested in this, he already has one and is on the lookout for another, but I won't see him for a few days.

Someone who lives near me has a Sapporo just like that silver one. Seeing it around always brightens my day. It's so unbelievably 80s it's untrue and I loved the 80s. I've always had a soft spot for the unloved Japanese models from the '80s, and the Sapporo was near the top of the 'want' list. Luckily, I have no money!

On another note, was this ever resolved for the OP? No, stepdad has had a few health issues and is taking things a bit easier for a while.

Just catching up with the first episode of the new series of 'George Clarke's Amazing Spaces', and the blue Phoenix appeared in the title sequence, so fully expect it to appear some time over the next few weeks.

One of the cars that would be in my dream garage, and now I am absolutely green with envy! Can I be incredibly rude, and ask what you gave for it?
