Hi, thanks for your interest! I've seen the team blitz mounts on a post somewhere, but decided to make my own. So it seems I'm selling them to cheap then.😉 Anyways, I have a manual steering rack on a standard subframe. I've seamwelded all the seams on the frame so no problems there. Not exactly sure what you mean with 'non strengthened chassis'? I did add some strengthening where the chassis legs meet the bulkhead. I have not tried this on a power steering rack. If you think that space is an issue, you could always add some steel spacers between the mounts and the engine? If it helps I can take some measurements? Mrgofast V6 Shells have a couple of extra strengthening parts. The top strut additional plate Triangular strenghtheners on bulkhead to inner wing Maybe a couple extra bits i forget. Not sure how much they actually strengthen the shell. But Ford did it. I am certainly intrested ill hit you up in the new year. TBH they look like they will fit, was just intrested in if you had tried it on a v6/powersteering car

Shame your not going the otherway!
I need a 5.0 engine gearbox bringing home. Well, i need to buy one first.
I'm sure motorbikes would go down well over there.

Team blitz do an engine mount for $190 plus delivery from US
I've been looking at doing this myself, but not going to be starting until atleast next winter.
I see you have a manual rack and a non strengthened chassis. Have you tried this on a v6 2.8 crossmember with a power steering box? I'm going to try and keep my powersteering, if these mounts work would save me some time and effort.

Oh really? I thought it was a January thing? Since you can apply for historic tax and check the box, "Car was manufactured more than 40 years ago" box

Yes, its a rolling 40 year for the MOT & Tax Exemption and the old style plates. But the DVLA website is a bit confusing currently.
I've just bought black/silver pressed plates for my 1978 Capri registered in December 1978 ready for January 1st
I'm not sure they SHOULD be allowed since they never had them originally. But since they are I'm going to give it a go see how i like them on my black 2.0S

It was poor management of charging the cells that did it. Overcharging the cells, 18650 lithium cells cant handle anymore than 4.2V safely. You can overcharge slightly if you know what your doing and keep an eye. Maybe to 4.35V Just pretty ********* stupid if you ask me leaving it running on a non managed charger. I would suggest it was a stunt for Rich Rebuilds EV garage hes trying to raise money to start up. But that would be pretty stupid... Proper cars from real manufacturers have systems in place so this isn't possible in a Tesla (Where these batteries came from)
Electric cars are the future, stop complaining and get with the program. Am i going to still drive petrol powered cars? Hell yeah, but ive been waiting for battery tech to get cheaper to build a retro EV myself for a reasonable price.
Nuclear energy is actually pretty clean. Its just public opinion on the subject that stops more plants being built. I think we have it down enough to not worry about another Chernobyl these days
If every Office/Warehouse even houses had solar panels ontop, we would be golden.
And there's even the talk about solar paneled roads, imagine how much energy that could product for the cars traveling on it.

Part 2, the Seat re-trim video; Dave I really wish I'd found this before I re-covered my Beetle seats. would have made it so much easier working out what all the bits I was missing were supposed to look like I'm rather enjoying these vids. I appreciate that a lot of time and planning must have gone into pre-visualising what you wanted the final flow of them to look like, where all the shots were angled from and so on. Very cool Yeah i enjoyed the re trimming video. Always wanted to try this myself. But i don't have a car that you can buy premade covers for. Didn't know about that little staple tool. Looks fun Jake

These types of locks can be opened with a biro. Not very secure. I’ve done this before on server racks. I assumed these were different to those. If not then that’s no good. I’ll stick with a regular lock type.

So a friend of mine has some Solex 'Security' door locks on his Capri, been fitted for some time. They fit into the standard hole for the barrel inside the door I know they made them for a bunch of different cars. I need to replace my door locks, as they are worn and are starting to not work sometimes. I had a google but it doesnt seem like they make these new anymore. And I'm a bit warey about buying second hand locks, who knows who might have a spare key. Is there any other companys around who make similar locks for retros? ideally these 'security' type Thanks

I bought an E46 because its old-ish, cheap and reliable.
I have to drive to client sites and its still seen as a good professional car no one looks twice at in a company car park, rather than turning up in 'an old banger'
For me, not a retro ride just yet.

At a large office campus i used to work at, a few of the car parking spaces were taken up with skips one day. Couple day later the skips were all almost full with blue carpet tiles they were removing from one of the office blocks. Most of which looked brand new.
I threw a bunch into the back of my pickup and now my detatched single brick garage is almost fully carpeted. Easy to fit. Only needed to trim some of the sides with a stanley. Whole job cost me a stanley blade and a few hours. Mostly due to having to move all my rubbish out and then back in once done.
I have no power so i still have to keep the door open in the winter, but not getting a cold back/feet helps a huge amount.
Good thing as well, is if i get one of the tiles dirty, cut etc. Just whip it out and replace with one of the spares.

Yeah would be hard to get something like that through testing!
Loving the build, i am suprised. Likes he has said, that he started with such a rusty 100E shell. But if it wasnt used for this most likely would be a new toaster soon enough

I actually didn't know this could effect small vans. I used to drive a huge 3.5 box van for work it could barely do 60 mph anyway but would drive it at max on 60mph roads all the time. Guess i got lucky!
Is there a way of looking online for this info? Would be handy if you could check a plate of a van/pickup before you purchased it to find out.
I'm sure my P100 is classed as a M1 as its a car derived but i don't have my V5 handy to check

Yeah later escort van. Not P100 lights Sierra or Cortina shape unfortunately
Tip, P100 did share the lights with the MK3 Escort van. And also with the Reliant robin. If you need a set for a mk3 escort van or P100 sierra shape Ebay reliant robin rear lights. You can get brand new units for about £35 pair. Made in Malaysia
Thanks, Jake
