my landlord has Two 2006 Park lane editions, one manual Cooper and one Auto (bleurgh) Cooper S.
seem fun enough to drive, a little disconnected but pretty direct steering given its mostly balljoints in the front suspension as per sporty bmw's.
bastards to work on though.

a good old thwack on a piece of wood should get the piston out, give it a thorough clean, bit of oil and re-assemble. you can also dress the top surface that touches the camshaft. www.taylor-eng.com/16v_head/16v_head.htm have a read from half way, its specific to the Peugeot MI16 engine, but these things really don't vary a great deal.

well its a rear suspension arm on a 2.8 ton van, so the loads are not insignificant.

that pump is probably at least 20 years old, why not just fit another that'll last 20 years again?

a few years back I did Cirencester to Graz in one day with goliath left at about 3, went Dover to Dunkirk on DFDS as it was mega cheap, drops you about half an hour up the coast in Belgium so ideal for heading to Germany and down, hit Graz at about 10 pm. Granted the 205 had a V6 so it was in its element cruising at 130 kph, however theres plenty of traffic out there doing 60-65

VW touran slightly smaller than the original vehicles mentioned but not a lot, a little more square, rear seat row folds flat into the floor and the middle 3 lift out individually.
b pillars forward its the same as a vw caddy but less VagTax, mk5 golf running gear.
1.9Pd is pick of the engines, 6 speed box as standard on them, avoid early 2.0's I'm told.

do you have both sides jacked up? I see an ARB there, might be placing tension on stuff, or might it be the strut placing stuff under tension?

i looked up the MSA blue book to double check before posting yesterday, and the only wording is min 8mm fasteners, I have been involved in building a few rally cars couple have been through logbooking process recently without issue with the seats.
harness eye bolts are specified to the letter though.

they don't need to be 12.9, a standard 8.8 would suffice (12.9 is hard to find in smaller sizes) they're still strong.
