Class 4 is just mot, you can have that on an 18 tonner, still need a C licence to drive it ! Sounds like someone has had a camper mot on it instead of hgv.
There is no "C1 mot" .
Even if that cant carry 3.5t, I'd bet it weighs almost that easily, a 5t sprinter for example can only carry 2.3. Its on GVW not carrying capacity.

Lean code and hesitation means its pinging and the ecu is pulling timing.
It is an Ea888 engine, variable inlet tracts and Direct injection, and variable cam timing and lift. i believe the earlier variants are known for bad carbon deposit buildup in the inlets.

Ita not being replaced, just canned, not selling enough and not enough profit in them.

Also a fan of foams, used to use stick on foams for my fixie. Modern LED's are a fun thing, just point it away from drivers eyes! Noo I want the bastards to see me! 800 lumens really isn't much these days, especially if it rains a bit, and there's oncoming traffic, I could not see much with my 900 lumen light last night for a few minutes..

Starters earth through the body so there is no separate earth, typically they are wired either inline between alternator and battery positive or have a separate cable to the battery positive

You can use scratch and uv resistant polycarbonate, (nobody uses perspex for windows, its far too brittle) the typical culprits that make plastic windows already use it

Saddles should always be horizontal, if it doesn't feel right get shopping for one that does.

I have a Giant Peleton of a very similar era, 4130 Steel road frame in the same red! Has much more modern groupset on it by about 10 years, still 9 speed so about 15-20 years out of date still 😆

Hi why don't yoou lift the back of the bonnet I have done that on a few cars Not mentioning looking gash, ironically this also does the opposite, the bottom of the screen is under positive pressure from the air flowing over it, so the heat does not escape at all. A better approach would be to ensure the air is getting in at the front efficiently, through any coolers you have without disturbing the air flow with sharp edges etc. Some heatshielding and an efficient cooling system would be more productive than some holes in the bonnet.

Still amused/irked by people that say don't use an S engine for a 'heavy' e34.
My TDS is 1480kg, an E46 M3 is 1570..

Vw, BmW and GKN motorsport inner joints are almost exactly that, a variation on the classic 6 ball Rzeppa joints, but designed for plunge as well as some articulation

Look at the cambelt and it will run forever! With basic maintenance you'll get 300000km with ease... I Find that hard to believe, as the bodies always rotted out way before they got that far...
