Go on buy it you know you want it!!! Have just checked with the owner - £850 (no offers) with a new MOT Has to be worth that as cool transport for a couple of years. Really needs to be gone as its now sat outside and the tax has just run out You're right, I do want it, but at the same time I don't want six cars!! haha

Another welcome visit from fellow Retro Rider shampooefficient today. Good to see you and the Mrs again. Update anyone? Christmas was mentally busy.... January was our busiest month since we opened a year ago... Last week (school half term) was our best ever week.... TripAdvisor is going really well. We're in the top ten of places to eat in Saltburn (out of 49), and we're ranked No. 1 for tea and coffee... www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g776120-d13528670-Reviews-Taste_Tea_and_Coffee_House-Saltburn_by_the_Sea_North_Yorkshire_England.htmlOur second patisserie/dessert supplier has pulled out as she only had us as a wholesale customer (we used to be one of three), and factoring in a 50 mile round trip for delivery, plus having no days off because of what she did for us, plus her core interest of the weekend farmers markets, meant something had to give. It was a bit of a bombshell, but I've sorted a new supplier, and it might work out better for us. Time will tell. Evenings are still quieter than we had hoped for, but I have a feeling that they will get busier when the evenings get warmer in the spring, and the nights are lighter. The nights when we have some live music on are our busiest nights, perhaps unsurprisingly. A few recent pics.... Still absolutely no regrets in taking this on. Long hours. Stress. No days off as such. 100% still the best thing I've ever decided to do.

Stunning. Right up my street this one. In fact, I was quite tempted when it was available on here.
The colour suits the lines perfectly. I just love it's rarity and 'oddness' (in the nicest possible sense) being a big coupe. The interior looks like a smashing place to be.
Bookmarked Adam. Keep the updates coming.

Fond memories of growing up in the seventies, and being taken everywhere on our holidays in my Grans husband's Austin 1300, in maroon, reg VCU 549L. I really don't know how we, as a family of 5, fitted in with my Gran and her husband, that's 7, plus cases etc. Fun days.
Loving this one. Bookmarked.

Little bit of overspray, stone chips and battle scars here and there on the mud flaps before today... It's the little things that make all the difference... Oh, and whilst on about the small things, another tiny improvement, but big in my eyes.... Better, until my new plates arrive anyway.

Sorry to see the HG issues, but not really unexpected for you I'm sure. There's almost an inevitability about it, a bit like bringing a new puppy home and waiting for the first pi$$-puddle. That said, these K series are actually very under-rated engines solely because of the well documented nature of it's achilles heel. Anyway, well done Sir, great purchase. Love these. Especially in Nightfire Red, which is the best colour for them by a mile. I've had two in NR, one of which had a long winded thread on this very forum.... forum.retro-rides.org/thread/142494/1995-rover-tomcat-coupe?page=1Oh, my current Rover is also in Nightfire.... forum.retro-rides.org/thread/206049/1999-rover-820-sterling?page=1I have this thread bookmarked, and I shall be following the improvements with a touch of jealousy. Weirdly and slightly off-topic, I dreamt I was driving a borrowed Primera last night and I broke the engine....! If it was definately a Primera, you probably a snapped driveshaft rather than broke the engine haha. They were/are a known achilles heel of the Primera.

I've had 4 x Primeras, two of which were GT's. Great cars. I made the seats for Primeras for 8 years. Did you work at Johnson Controls, or whatever it was called before, then? I did mate. Started there when it was Ikeda Hoover in 1997, left in 2004 when it was Johnson Controls.

Agree with rblote on both of those The new Volvo as mentioned up there has a really nice design. I see why more than one of you guys like the Volvo, but i still think the CLS Shooting Brake has better lines and is a better looking car.

New Job Geordie?? Whats happened to the coffee shop you both ran? Still running the coffee shop dude. It's not quite at the point where it can support us both though, so Julie is working in occupational health now for a private company.

We recently splashed out on a big modern for Mrs Geordie, as she's doing a few more miles in her new job. It's the most expensive car I've ever been involved in buying, but when she showed me the sale advert pics and said that was what she fancied, I had to say I quite liked it. 2013 Mercedes CLS 250d Shooting Brake. Big, comfortable, quiet and 55mpg (600 miles to a tankful on a run). To be honest, I think it's a beautiful car. The lines are just so sexy. And that comes from someone who really isn't into moderns, as you probably know from my car history. I think it's the best looking current estate bar none... Thoughts on whether you agree about the CLS lines, and, more importantly, what do you consider to be a good looking modern. I don't really think this should include super cars, with all their low swung swooping lines. I'm thinking more of 'normal' moderns. My shout for another damn good looking modern....Alfa Giulia....

Love this. There was an executive model lived round the corner from us until it rotted away. It had a different grille with twin little rectangular foglights in it... might have been a JDM thing or, like a GXL model or something. Looked excellent My 2.0 Auto carbbie, on 16" Nissan wheels. GXL with grille lamps. Lovely cruiser, lock-up 4th o/d. IIRC the bottom balljoint is a 'press fit' into the arm and, after having one done for MOT, I got a creak over harsh kerb edges.. Tickle around the rim with a welder fixed it OVIMORDo you still have the car. I see you're in the north east too. Some pics showing the front grille would be good.

"the last proper Citroen", or so I'm often told.....the CX
"the last proper BMW", or so I'm often told....the E34....or E39.....
...your thoughts on "the last proper........?"
