Pilot box on XUD. Seems about an average sized gearbox to me. Easy to sort out flywheel + clutch ![](http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj495/phnarphnarphnar/26092012661.jpg) Tata loadbeta gearbox on XUD. Bellhousing is a better, more compact shape than the Pilot box. They seem to be more expensive to get, harder to get and unknown how much power they'll take for how long. Not sure about clutch/flywheel/pressure plate issues yet (this is going in a friends morris minor and he's not got round to clutch yet) ![](http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj495/phnarphnarphnar/02032013892-1.jpg)

What were you using for silencing on your kit car? I was using a single cheap kit car silencer, wasn't very good quality and didn't do a great deal of silencing ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png)

Great thread & car! Looking forward to hearing straight six + S/C. I used to have a B6304 in my kit car, it sounded superb

Grind a sharp point on to an old valve to make a centre punch with an easy-to-hit head. Resharpen when needed. My dead volvo head has supplied 24

No idea if it's the same, but on a 740 it's in the dash, in front of the gearstick/behind the ashtray

The rake should stay but a nice paint job wouldn't go amiss +1 and I've just had to google quinoa Quinoa is great to grow in the UK. Last year it was constantly wet, this year a nice hot summer. Zero effs were given by the quinoa, just keeps on growing! Hi, Nice job! I think a subtle lower at the back to help with load capacity. Had you thought about banded steel although that might require chassis mod? What about a conversion to 'pram handle'? Your daily looks straight with a nice patina, has it had to be welded? Mine unfortunately has had to be. The daily is solid, no welding done, but it could do with a rub down and lick of paint to stop it going downhill. Banded steel? Well it would have to be banded plastic ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Or I could get another similar wheel and go dually

2013 - V1 2014 - V2 2015 - V2.1 I use a wheelbarrow at my allotment regularly. Here it is full of quinoa. ![](http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj495/phnarphnarphnar/barrow01.jpg) and the last of the toms ![](http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj495/phnarphnarphnar/barrow02-1.jpg) It's a nice wheelbarrow, but the ride height has been bugging me for the last year so I thought it was about time to do something about it. A few quid later at the local cattle market auction got me a project barrow. Here is the beast. It's rough, all the connections from the bucket to the chassis have failed or about to fail. It has a lovely plaster/rust/pig poo patina. ![](http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj495/phnarphnarphnar/barrow03.jpg) ![](http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj495/phnarphnarphnar/barrow05.jpg) Bucket removed for chassis mods. ![](http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj495/phnarphnarphnar/barrow06.jpg) Slot for the wheel ![](http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj495/phnarphnarphnar/barrow08.jpg) Chassis chopped ![](http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj495/phnarphnarphnar/barrow09.jpg) ![](http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj495/phnarphnarphnar/barrow10.jpg) ![](http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj495/phnarphnarphnar/barrow11.jpg) Mad rake ![](http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj495/phnarphnarphnar/barrow12.jpg) Wheel arch ![](http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj495/phnarphnarphnar/barrow14.jpg) ![](http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj495/phnarphnarphnar/barrow15.jpg) ![](http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj495/phnarphnarphnar/barrow16.jpg) A few on location shots ![](http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj495/phnarphnarphnar/barrow18.jpg) ![](http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj495/phnarphnarphnar/barrow19.jpg) ![](http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj495/phnarphnarphnar/barrow17.jpg) Should I lower the back to match the front ride height? Ape hangers?

Thanks folks! There's a build thread for the kit car here. Basically it's an MK Indy with a 1.9 turbo diesel engine from a peugeot 806, LDV pilot gearbox. Plans to compound charge it are currently swimming around my head. Off to the scrapyard tomorrow morning for parts for the volvo and the MK!

Ohh now then!! Wheres the kitcar thread? ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Keep forgetting that ssangyong borrowed van engines from mercedes, i guess itll be using a sprinter or c/e class gearbox? The kit car's components are all old, but the SVA & reg date make it too new so no thread. I'm using a 722.4 autobox from a 300 turbo diesel ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

506: buying a new toothbrush means the old one has the honour of being dunked in petrol and used to clean dirty car parts
507: when stripping a donor car and you've taken the battery out, you later realise the battery tray is now being used as a tool tray

I'm after a couple of ratty volvo wheels with tyres on. I need some for getting my project on wheels again for moving round the workshop. I'm using a 240 axle so any 200/700/900 steels with spent tyres on would be great. Leics/Notts/Lincs area preferably.
Cheers!

Nice!
I'd stick a hand crank handle on the front and write 'Tombola' down the side.

Top stuff ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) There was an estate in the same colour as yours dropped off at my local scrapyard whilst I was there today, and there's a white estate there too. I've not seen any in scrapyards for ages then 2 at once!
