But if you really must it has to be either the R32 or the 200sx, personally I'd go for the SX, face-lift s13's sort of have retro appeal and they're also damn gorgeous and can be bought quite cheaply.

Yeah agreed, and there's no electronic brain to go mad and start killing everything in sight.

I say R32, and don't be shy of the 4dr versions as they look great.

I probably wouldn't buy anything turbo for a daily hack. Just one more thing to pack in and cause trouble. If you want a Skyline just import one. They are cheap as if you get it yourself. I bought an ordinary 2.0L R33 four door in 2004 with 50k on the clock from Japan and in total, taxes paid it cost £1300. I'm off down to Southampton on Monday to pick up a 4x4 I just imported That's going to be my new sensible day-to-day tow car etc -Ed BTW, 200SX are good fun and cheap but not all that reliable in the engine department unless they are in really good nick or rebuilt. Avoid cheap high milage ones!

I do like all of those. If it was my choice I would probably get the skyline. Depends how much money you have to spend though. Depending on how you drive you will probably be hard pushed to get more than 20mpg out of any of those though and if you are doing a few miles it will cost a mint in fuel. And its pointless buying a car like that and then trying to drive economically.
Get yourself a diesel chugga and chuck your spare money at the amazon ;D

hey ed, can I see a pic of your imported 4-door job? Here it be... Sold it a couple of months ago and used the proceeds to buy this... 2.7 turbo diesel, a/c and all that jazz and only 34k on the clock. Should be about £1800 all in by the time I've paid the duty, vat etc. -Ed

Oh man I totally forgot about 86s, drool , aren't they a bit thin on the ground since drifters and Initial D fans snapped them up though, unless you're prepared to splurge of course. Considered a Mk1 MR2?

If not how much on average does it cost to ship a car from the land of the Rising Sun, and is there much hassle with paperwork? Basically how do you go about doing it, I would like to hear your experience of it as there a few JDM only cars I wouldn't mind owning and as you say they seem to very cheap!

Not a big fan, bit too boxy for my taste.

I love AE86`s. But I would go for a skyline over one of those. 86`s are just too expensive at the minute at have been the last few years. There is one on ebay at the minute. Looks tidy but is gonna need new arches all round and the inner wings are starting to rust. Bidding is starting at 3000

I had the chance of this one lat time I was in Japan. £3000 but he would have probably come down to £2500. 180bhp two way TRD LSD loads of decent kit. But in the end I decided it was gonna be too much money by the time it was shipped over.
