had the truck just over 2 years now, swapped it for my 1430 mk3 mini,which i'd been trying to sell for a long time, then I got an offer for the truck,
thought it was a fair good at the time,
Until I had a proper look over it,the last welder to touch it was clearly blind,
it was 'solid' but not ideal,so things like rear arches and floors would be replaced later on...
first job was to get it off the revo's and on some banded's which I had from my old turbo,

once that was sorted and my turbo shell had sold I was left with a load of parts and was desperate to turbo the pickup as the weezy 1000cc wasnt that much fun,light on the wallet,but not fun.
And in went the 1293 turbo, for most mini-turbo coversions you'l need to cut the bulkhead and box it for the larger exhaust turbo manifold,but I already had a mirage manifold with a T2,its an aftermarket manifold that means you don't need to cut it out,
along with fitting copper lines inside and a new 17lt fuel tank (lol),megajot ignition and an Apexi avcr,it was done,kinda, as with all new conversions it still needed a few tweaks but got there in the end!! ;D
so as the plan was to do all the bodywork anyways I decided to hack the steel front off as it wasnt really fitted well and I had my old carbon one,which would never rust....
now it was starting to look like a real peice curse word with the blue front and primer all over,and some of the filler was starting to crack, I had been using it like this for a few months now and even I was starting to get embrassed of it,
it had to happen, took a few days off work and went to a friend of mine's garage where the work would commence,
a full strip down and a tin of filler later,oh and some paint,
was nearly done, all except the tailgate as I wanted to use a net, but never got around to that, so I just cut up and repaired an old one from a friend and just used the outer skin, all in the name of saving weight!

so drove it to a freinds yard to replace the front subby which had broken at some point,and there it stayed for another 4 months doing nothing until 3 days before london to brighton, when I wanted to change the turbo,final drive in the box and the subfame all in a few days,well I did manage it, but drove 100yrds done the road and something wasnt right with it, this was all the night before, so drove it back jumped in the metro and off I went to crystal palace,
and there it stayed for another 2 months before I Finally got some time and money to to anything,as the floors needed welding a decided that I may as well do it properly and strip it all again,front and rear subbys off,engine out,then I run out of money again and there it stayed for another 2 months still mot'd insured and taxed!,lookig at the price of a full floor for £500 kinda put a spanner inthe works a bit,
After thinking about what to do with it, I thought the only way forward with it would be a modern 16v........in the back,as the rear floor was curse word anyway, I thought that even if I was gonna do it back to standard this just would not do,so out with the airsaw and cutting disc and the rear was out,

I have had Vtec on the card's 1.6 sohc will do, with a nice t28 on the front for good measure!
but I had also thought about something bigger,v6,v8 maybe?
then I have all kinds of other issues,
il have got a full cage being made at the moment for it once I have that il start chopping the floors out......will update very soon!
