for her sins, my sister owns a 2 year old 206. it had to go in for its 20k service this week, so we took it to the dealer. the dealer is a brand new effort combining peugeot, renault, and kia. walked into the dealer and my eyes were automatically drawn towards a black sporty little number. it was a 3 door 206 in black, with GTi 180 alloys in granite and a full body kit. i couldnt keep my eyes off it, so while my sister was booking her car in, i began persauding her. then i got talking to this sales guy...it was from here it went downhill a bit. the car was only a 1.4 (same engine that my sister has) that had been bodykitted up...thats ok, but its only about 70bhp. then there was the price, since the body kit was about 2k or something, it was listed as an ORP of £12000. that is more than a 130bhp fabia RS! anyway, my sister finished and i still couldnt shake how good that car looked. we had to go back today because a bit of her trim broke on her door when the wind caught it, so i took my camera. i've got some pics of the 206 to justify my case. I am indeed fully aware that it isnt at all retro, but i just love it. the only problem with it is the standard ride height. anyway, my sister cant afford the car and so i had to stop myself...so i went for a walk around the showroom. this was quite cool, Renault Megane 225. i then had a look at the 107, since i really liked the 106 and this one just leaves me cold. the only slightly redeeming feature is the cool tacho rev counter anyway, lots of volvos in h'pool today this is nice, 960? 340DL and i saw this too So, I think i am losing the plot, liking all these modern cars, its just not normal...i need to see a retro doctor!

right, that black monstrosity does NOT look good, it looks like its been covered in tat. Its is also sporting big wheels and a stock engine, all show and no go. And for the princely sum of 12K? My god, imagine what kind of retro lovelyness could be had J

The 206 even had halfords special 'performance enhancing mesh' in the grille opening. I'm afraid it sucks monster c***.
I'll take a Skoda Rapid and £11,600 to spend on bumming around the world for a few months ta!

that pugs a bit tommy tank innit.better off the other way round, take a gti 180 ,stick a set of steelies on it ,debadge it and take off all the plastic toot, then use to scare barryboys sensless,***note*** could always stick a 1.1 badge on the boot for added effect. if i had to buy modern for that sort of money i'd get the skoda.less show-more go.

i like it. i don't see how adding lexus lights to something that isnt lexus is any different from us adding bits from other cars to ours. ie porsche bits on a vw

put it this way,if that 'thing' drove past me i wouldn't even warrant it with a glance, however if a skoda 136 went past you can bet i'd have a second or even third look.if you do buy it then you'll run the risk that some financially challenged herbert will like the look of your wheels and bodykit and soon have them 'fitted' on his car, leaving you with some designer axle stands aka house bricks.

that 106 is f*cking rancid! i think meganes are excellent though, def future retro classic!
and goaferboy the porsche/vw thing tends to be with brakes, wheels etc. Items which IMPROVE the performance/styling of a Volkswagen. Lexus lights do not improve the performance/styling of any car on earth. And that is fact. ;D

I quite 206`s, and I don't mind the wheels but not at that ride height it would look better with standard wheels. don't like the lights or the mesh. To help keep this thread vaguely retro out of the two I would have this.

the 206 is shocking, adding alll that tat has done nothing to imporve the looks of the car. I'm quite a fan of the Aygo/C1/107 its ugly, but i like the idea behind it.
