They bl00dy well shouldn't ;D That's fantastic! It will be a bit longer for the beaver-tail and I'm playing around with a possible fibreglass roof with actual corner curves but your picture has really helped with the visualisation. Cheers, Ian Glad to be of service! I did try and find a picture of the Healy to put on the back, but I couldn't make that work very well. Agreed about the extra length, not only will it look better but I imagine it'll make getting the car on and off a lot easier.

Paul, I actually considered a covered body but the Goddess roofline is too low and I didn't want a step between cab and enclosed body. Then bmcnut came along with this and I made the decision that I wanted the car to be seen on the back of the transporter. volksangyl's semi-circular panel out of the back of the cab will hide a tyre rack with the car's nose tucked underneath. They may say that a camel was a horse designed by a committee but with all the feedback I'm getting being fed into this project I feel this will not end up looking like a camel with all your help. So thanks Guys!

Ah - wasn't thinking of it having a roof - just keeping the full height sides. Hopefully have the chance to scribble / photoshop something later on tonight, to show what I mean.

Yep Photoshop is dangerous! And thanks to volksangyl I knew I'd seen that cab/cockpit shape before and for your edification may I introduce you to FRANKENBOMBER Front gunner's crash safety's not up to much but the bomb aimer doesn't have to worry too much about altitude. I shall have to wear a flying helmet ;D

That's beautiful I did consider a classic coach conversion but you look at most of the racer's coaches and IMHO they mainly look like part of a traveler convoy

Still a work in progress I'm afraid (it's getting late) but the basic idea shows through. The deck is recycled from a lightish transporter, Renault, Iveco, that sort of thing and the cab cap is from a more modern truck. They are usually fibre glass so you can chop it about to suit. I envision it with a bit of an overhang at the front so that it forms a sun visor. Put a hatch in the cab roof and there would be access for storing light stuff. The tyre rack could extend back over the bonnet of the Healey if height was an issue. Storage bins on either side of the chassis for tools etc and you are sorted!. Don't know if you'd want to travel very far in it thought as I remember the Bedford RL as being a bit slow, noisy and uncomfortable, mind you, I was usually bouncing around in the back (I was a squaddie) Lots of good stuff available for Chevy and GMC sixes, so a man of your considerable capabilities ought to be able to make the beast boogie a bit and probably run on LPG too. I shall watch with interest. regards, DW
I like but it looks far too modern, needs fifties style
] A bit more like this you mean? Unfortunately I don't have the skills or the time to do it justice. I do admit that the black panel round the windows was a cop out, the dog leg stripe kept showing through. DW

wow- wicked! I've not been back long from travelling about south island- i log onto RR and find this. cool!!!!!
50MPH and 8 tonne standard- so I'm guessing it will be roughly the same weight once you have finished and have the healey parked on it.
I love the fact it is 4wd. I remember seeing these 'racing/trundling' through oxford on way to fires in 2002? during the firemans strikes.
One these with a chassis stretch would make an awesome housetruck.........
