Heres some others I've done recently (hope I don't bore people or annoy admin/moderators ,but I love toys and models of ALL vehicles ). Bought this of ebay last year A KE 70 Corolla I really like the 'swept back' wing mirrors the Japs fit ...and a Series 3 Land Rover (it was a Civilian one which I made into a BAOR Military one) Kyteler: Who makes that skyline?

what are the best makes? cos all those above seem to be quite detailed, just looking at the Revell AG site, there's a very nice orange BMW 320i and an orange Porsche 935 on there. who would you say are the best make?

I like Tamiya best but ...they don't do 'Old skool Euro vehicles' so then you need to look at Revell AG. If you want out and out 'Hot Rod gear' then you need to look at American firms like AMT, Monogram and ERTL plus the American division of Revell. However the Revell stuff is not as 'sharp in fit' as J models so you will need to do a bit more fettling. Two examples of my 'Yank' stuff below:

Great models guys! Heres some others I've done recently (hope I don't bore people or annoy admin/moderators ,but I love toys and models of ALL vehicles ) It's certainly not annoying me - I really like these threads At the moment EBay seems to have a lot of stuff that people are 'digging out the woodwork' Agreed, but eBay can be expensive for the rarer stuff, and often the kits aren't as complete or as in good condition as they are described..... if you have a good model shop near you, I'd try there, and also see what they can order for you - most will have a huge stack of catalogues! what are the best makes? cos all those above seem to be quite detailed, just looking at the Revell AG site, there's a very nice orange BMW 320i and an orange Porsche 935 on there. who would you say are the best make? As Twincam GTi says, it depends on what car you want to build. Tamiya do a good range of classic stuff as well as modern Japanese cars & Ferraris, but some are more detailed than others - their Jag Mk2 is especially superb with full engine, interior and underbody detail. However, note that some Tamiyas don't have engines. Most of the other Japanese manufacturers are very good, but this can vary depending on which model it is. Revell Europe do some decent kits, but some are reissues (eg the 288 GTO is apparently an Italeri kit). I quite like the old Heller kits of classic / prewar cars, but they are quite rare now. Loads more model car kit info here - I'd recommend using the search function because the forum is so vast In the meantime, I'm building a Bandai 1:16 Bugatti Royale, and a fully plated Monogram 1:24 Packard roadster - the later looks like something Liberace wold have owned as what would be chrome is instead gold and everything else is a slightly satin chrome / silver ;D
