Roy has gotten officially tedious. He didn't use a Trans Am either, but that looks better than what he did use if you're making an "All-American" poster. ;D That's because the film is all about the history of the race as well as his own attempt to beat the record. It's got lots of archive footage from 70's and 80's, interviews with loads of the people involved - original interviews and more recent interviews with the same people today. I don't know how the final edit will come out, but the bits I saw had lots of cross reference/footage/interviews with Cannonball, Gumball etc....charting the history and culture of trans-american car racing.

Blitz, quick to criticise, slow to offer any alternatives Le Mans - ignore the woeful script, lack of dialogue, enjoy the 70s racers and the cars in the background American Graffiti - 50s/60s street racing with a young Han Solo The Car - Duel is an great suspense/horror road movie, so is this Vanishing Point - Muscle car, road trip, monkey bike and a naked chick on a Honda, what more does the RR cinema need? ;D

Black Dog & Thunder Run are a couple of truck related naff ones worth concentration.
But I do think The Driver is genuinely brilliant.

Thats an awesome movie TCC, a great one to catch mid afternoon. Doesn't it have a comeo from a very young and fresh faced Sean Connery?
State of the art speeded up trucks special effects, racing loads to and from the quarry.

I'm desparately trying to remember the name of that independent jobby that was about teenage "streetracers" set in Brighton. Lead protagonist had a capri. I think the sequal had him shipping it to the states and a blown V8 fitted.

Dolphins or something I think Mark. I haven't actually seen it but it is a blown Capri so I might well look it up.
