Got this a couple of months ago from a friend ive been hassling for over 2 years to sell it to me,he used it to renovate his house then stripped it down & resprayed it as he is a car painter by trade & then I got it freshly painted but in bits! Then I fitted some 8J Weller 8 spokes originally destined for a Toyota Hilux, redrilled them to fit a 4 stud pattern & stretched some 195/50/15's onto them; Finally I added some original stripes I sourced from the States plus some of my own graphics & tinted all the windows out & this is how she looks now; Next on the list is to trim the front wings a bit as the tyres rub on lock & start on removing the engine & box & replacing it with Impreza turbo running gear! So what do you all think of her?? Tim....

Another car I would be happy to own, though I know nothing about them, or their ownership.
Looks great to me, love the wheels and tyres.

Not usually a big fan of stretched tyres but they look good on those wheels on that pickup.

Brilliant, the original wheels and stripes are boring. This works well. WANT! I'd perhaps look for more inset wheels or slightly narrorwer fronts at least, but it rocking that toy truck look, cool!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

That'll be wicked with an impreza motor in it! I'd have to say i think it could do with some jdm style arch extensions though, but a great motor nonetheless

I started on another job today on the Brat, the front wheels stuck out 25mm further from the wheel arches than the rears which I didnt like & some of you guys commented on this too! So grinder in hand I cut the welds holding the centres in which took a while as I didnt want to cut into the rim! Once I did this I took them to my mates engineering shop & used his 100 ton press to move the centres out towards the outside of the rim with 4 blocks under it so I could move them to where I wanted them & more importantly keep them in true! Once I done this I re welded the centres back into the rims like they were originally & then I blew them over with a rattle can of diamond white just to cover the exposed metal as I'm going to refit the tyres onto them in the morning at work, then fit em back onto the Brat & see if all my hard work & tape measuring skills have paid off! Photos to follow I promise!! Tim....
Also I managed to get a rotten & almost complete Brat for spares last weekend for next to nothing from another forum member, thanks Pete you know youre a star man!!

As you are all probably aware ive got the Subaru Brat thats in the Area52 thread.........well ive been meaning to do this next modification for some time & over the last 2 nights I got my butt in gear & got it done!! Basically I wanted some sort of chrome nudge bar on the truck but I couldnt find an original so I had to look & see what I could find that would fit.. This is what I found, its originally from a Toyota Surf.... Then I removed the centre bar,2 reasons;1 it was rusty & 2 I didnt want the word Toyota on my Subaru!! Now the tricky bit started,it wouldnt fit at all so I cut off the original mounts & fabricated some new ones that allowed me to attach it to the underside of the bumper irons. Once these were welded in place I trial fitted it & then made some minor adjustments so it sat correctly. Finally I added some retro 8" Cibie Oscar+'s I traded for the huge spotlights that the truck came with. Heres the finished bar fitted, just got to wire up the spots & do a final fit n finish tomorrow in the light! I'm pleased with it so far & I think its an improvement on the look of my little truck! Tim.... ;D Heres one I took today in the daylight...... And finally a before & after shot.... Before with the old spot lights.... After with the nudge bar & Cibie Oscar +'s......

Nice wheels, they look so oversized they make the pick up look like a toy, really liking it.

Does have a Tamiya QD look about it. Nicely done. Thanks,i remember the rc Brat when i was a kid & i think thats where it all stems from! In between doing the wheels & nudge bar i fitted another engine & box as the old units both leaked oil quite badly & i now only get a little spot of oil on the drive & not the usual oil slick it was partial to leaving!
