The HUGE aerial photo!! ;D Today I did another job on the Brat after finding the items I wanted on the internet on Tuesday night! Heres the truck's original mirrors which look cack & the lenses have seen better days & replacements are like hens teeth........ Ive replaced them with some American "torpedo" style mirrors & they were an absolute steal @ £26.00 delivered & only took 5 minutes to change them out! I'm pleased with the new mirrors & they look a whole lot better than the original's!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Does anyone else see And think Or is it just me? It all stems back to my childhood when I had a radio controlled Brat & since then ive always wanted a real one & I think thats where the inspiration comes from with my "full size Brat"!!

Now another true showing of the spirit of the RR community which still amazes me,this is how it played out....... Yesterday out of the blue I got a PM from Swollen (Phil) saying that he had spotted a for sale ad in his local free paper saying "2 Subaru 4WD Pickups. One non runner, one runner but no MOT. Offers.01963 ******. looks by tel code to be wincanton way. not sure if it's of any interest to you..." I made the call to the number & it turned out to be a farmer & arranged to go & view them this afternoon. After that call I made another to Black8Driver(Si) to see if he was free to come with me to view em & tow them back should I actually purchase 1 or both to which he replied "yeah no problem"! So today me & Si went to the farm & had a look at the pair of pickups...... The non runner was exactly that,it had stood for 4 years according to the farmer & was mildew green inside & out,so I decided that was 1 off the buying list because it didn't even have any parts I would need for spares! The 2nd one was a different story...... The farmer said it had been sat for a few months,he offered to start it & me & Si smiled expecting it to take ages to fire up but as soon as he hit the key it was running & the motor was silently sweet sounding so I jumped in it with the farmer & he took me for a test drive around the fields! Got back very impressed with the truck its not a mint one by no means but the interior has lots of mint stuff to go into mine like the door cards, centre console & the under dash which houses the radio! I had to bargain hard with the farmer as he wanted silly money for a tatty truck without MOT but in the end we agreed a price & it was mine! So me & Si attached it to the back of my Brat on a solid bar & towed it back to my place. Had a real laugh on the way back towing Si in the pouring rain as we were going up a really steep & long hill when I thought to myself god my truck is pulling really well up this hill & not struggling only to find out when we got back that Si had the engine running in the towed truck & he had it in 3rd gear & thought it was a good idea to "help" me get up the hill! ;D Once again a huge thanks to Swollen(Phil) for finding it & Black8Driver(Si) for their help with this..... Heres a couple of shots of the "new spares dept!"....

Glad to help... It doesn't look too bad in the photos... I'd roll that! There not easy to roll as I throw mine into corners like I do in my Skyline, the only difference is more body roll in the Brat! ;D

Think I'd MOT, slam then run as is...dents add to the character ;D
