Behold the new Kumobile... Behold my ' ... its modern (less than a decade old LOL) I give up on trying to run an old daily. I did think VIP for all of about 5 seconds. But really, no. Nearest this will get to any custom treatment is if it carried home some cans of candy paint in its boot for one of my project cars. [its a Lexus LS400 "phase 2" for anyone who might have mistaken it for a Primera or something] And yes, its purple and lilac 2 tone! I like it. And I have made 2 full journeys now without anything falling off, unusual noises, clouds of smoke or any form of bad running. This could be the future...

|
... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

Lovely. Dare I ask how much you paid?

If that's a sell out, consider me For Sale.

Looks good from where I'm sitting, luxo-barge reliable daily... meaning mojo is spent on your other cars. All win.

Fair enough. I back your decision.

rMad - £2900. Its almost a crime not to at that price. Fully optioned, full Lexus SH with most of the bills not just the stamps, full MOT, 10 months tax on it and its just had a set of new Pirelli P-Zeros still new enough to have all the "nobbles" still on them. In a 245/50x17 I bet thats near half the cost of the car there LOL.
HW - thats the idea. Removal of frustration at trying to do stuff on a 2p budget for the daily. I've blown a fair wad (by my standards) buying this but it should cost me nothing but the petrol to run it. This is another reason for the "no modifications" rule. Except maybe to LPG it?
thread title was "tongue in cheek" if anyone missed that...

Is that replacing the forever broken PT or is Mrs Akku still driving that? I hope it is reliable for you!

Yum. As the owner of a "Dark Aubergine" Ford Scorpio, I suppose I fail too.... Having said that, the only actual working vehicle I have at the moment is a 41 year old cortina

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

luxo barge daily is where its at! i sold the benz (ok, its was an '84 W123 so not exactly modern) just before last winter. Then drove Tash's Beetle thru THAT winter. Never again! As soon as October comes around i'm back in the market for a luxo barge daily!!!!

Put me down on the failure list too. I gave up running retro dailys years ago, getting a company car helped but to be honest if i had to buy a daily that lexus would have been on my list too! However a small adjustment in ride height in true "Retro Rides" fashion wouldn´t go a miss ;D

Luxurious modern daily that cost a fraction of it's new price is a WIN in my book ;D Even better that it's a V8 Exhaust "adjustment"? Just a thought...
