Hi, Today, I managed to ask boys in Nissan to dill few bits for me. As a result, I managed to trial fit this! I made this engine stabiliser/alternator tensioner in one. Also, I trial fit my master cylinder reservoir. I think I need to use more permanent fitting... not cable tie! I fitted fuel filter/FP regulater thingy! And I needed to have a space for a battery since I took it out from the boot. So, I used a Swift Gti tray and fitted here! I will be fitting screen wash tank next to it as well. So I think I will have less space by the time I finish this car! Cheers Atchi

Hi, After doing a 16vminiclub trackday, my motivation is up! I have been sneeking off into garage for a few hours since sunday. Result is my coolant pipes are made! I will buy good quality stuff but this is just trial fit. My girls' tranpouline frame is used..... it was dead one. They got 10 foot one now so don't worry! Next, wiring and fuel line inside the car! Cheers Atchi

Hi, I have dropped on to the ground with alloys, I'm using with my car. This way I can check for most of teething issue with my mini. Well, there are a few. Anyway, even before my suspensions are settled. It is just over 48" high. It might not very clear but side view. My issue I have is that the lowest part is 3.5" from the ground. and next bit is 4" off the ground. I can modify 3.5" to 4" as it is my sub-frame part which I made before I shorten oil sump. The other 4" is gearbox bit so I need to think about it. Cheers Atchi

Hi, This evening, I managed to work on my mini for a while. So, I fitted a single wiper from a Citroen AX. I have made a few brackets and welded in and modded where wiper spindle actually comes out. Next, I needed to fit R1 carbs with airbox but it didn't want to know with wiper motor. So, I have to assemble out side then fit carbs as a complete. Here goes! Once assembled, I can fit it in! Almost touching... well it is touching but carbs are not fitted all the way in yet! Then I noticed rear wheel is in funny angle and toe in! As a result, coil seat is touching my inner wheel arch. I think when I do toe in and camber, it will be OK.... I hope. Front need to look at also. It looks like SUV with this much gap! Almost there! Just fuel pipe and wirings for me to start my engine! Cheers Atchi

Hi, I have been busy doing summer holiday with kids and my work is busy as well for change. I got 2 little packages today...well kind of big-ish 2 package! Inside, I have these wheels. This wheel is called Hayashi Street and size wise 13x7" with 10mm off set. I will be fitting these wheels when I fit rear disc brakes. I will mod these wheels to take Dual PCD with 100 and 114.3. Anyway, this is how it looks on front. and rear from above! May be bit wide but I can strech tyres!? Cheers Atchi

Hi Aitchi, not sure the car would be road legal if the wheels protrude that much outside the wheel arch. Great work so far though!

Excellent work on this project! Looking forward to your next update.
With regards to the wheels I have always thought that as long as there is not any tread sticking out from the arch it is fine. As this stops any stones flying up into pedestrians etc. Correct me if I'm wrong!

Atchi,
Did you have a feature in minimag? Love the car and the conversion. My new fav thread, don't know how I missed it! Barry

IIRC as long as 3/4 of the tread at the top of the tyre is covered, you are OK.

Hi,
K18ary, yes that was me.
The Doctor, I needed alloy wheels without cavity where wheel is mounted. So that I can cut dual PCDs to it. I tried everywhere for 13" with 6J but there weren't any I liked so I bought this set from Japanese auction. It cost me over £200 for 2nd hand due to exchange rate but I got it shipped free with my work! I think I can only manage once for size of part I asked to send!
I might go with 175/50-13 or 195/45-13 or 185/55-13. Not sure what I want!
Cheers Atchi

Hi, I have been making my floor mounted acc pedal evo 3 for a while. Everytime I make it, it didn't work one way or the other. So, I think I clacked it this time! It looks like this from front. And you pressed it it goes like this! I think it will pull 40mm so I think it will work OK with my R1 carbs. I can start working on my project once again as summer is over! Cheers Atchi

Hi, I have started to work on my car again. So for me to fit this pedal I have made, I need to cut out and reinforce floor a little. Cut out. Reinforcement insert Weld in and fit a pedal! I will need to grind excess welds away but trial fit and carbs open fully so I'm happy! I need to change angle of engine slightly so I'm back to start but it will be easy job! Cheers Atchi

Hi, Today, I managed to work in my garage for 4 hours! So, I finally managed to change angle of my engine. This time it is 7 degrees, so I used to have mine at 0 degree so I hope it will work with R1 carbs. Then I checked after changing 3 mounts positions to check it is OK with a split level! Then fitted everything I can think of for trial fit! I also fitted my single wiper conversion and it looks OK for the space. Only issue I have is that I will need to lift back end of my bonnet to clear Lotus air box. After this, I looked into my exhaust manifold only to find out it has massive crack and it gave away after very easily! From the looks of photo, it was like this for a while! I ask my friend to look for one for me! Cheers Atchi

Hi, Thanks borednow, I do try! After changing the angle of my engine, I have to re-make my gearshift. I have to make it shorter, and heated up and bend it to suit me better from the driver seat. So this is the result and took me 5 hrs to do this as I have to go under the car to check and take it off and so on. As you can imagine my satisfaction when I can actually choose all of me gears! I was sitting there and making engine noises for few min! Next item for me to tackle is petrol pipes so that I can start my engine! Cheers Atchi

Hi Chris,
Trust me, I don't have a skill. I just make it up as I go along. I just use thicker metal and so on. So that it will be over engineered.
I will be having fun of fitting wires soon after I come back from Business trip to Germany!
Cheers Atchi
