I figured this is the best section of the forum for this.
The first step to me owning this bike was when my dad bought it in 1992 for £100. In 1994 he sailed from Newcastle to Gdansk and then rode down through Poland to the Czech Republic. Once there he rode back across Germany and sailed from Holland to Hull and back home - all with my mum as a pillion and their combined camping gear - quite a feat.
My dad continued to use it for a year or so and when the tax ran out in Jan 96 he parked it up in a garage. It was moved to a different garage in 2000 but didn't really see daylight again until May of this year when my father and I dragged it out into daylight.
Slowly over the next two months I worked on it and got it to an MOTable level.
Since then I've also replaced the mechanical regulator with a modern electrical one, changed the coil [the original broke] and smartened it up.
I rode it quite alot and took it camping in Holland,
So it became my daily transport and has proved to be very reliable.
Unfortunately I had a crash last week but repaired all of the damage yesterday and we're running again. Although, in the crash I have dislodged something in the exhaust as its now much noiser.
I'm currently living in South Shields and each weekend it is ferring me to and from home (30 mile trip).
So for a cheap, 70s, 2-stroke motorbike it doesn't do too bad!
