Or even the same size Should mean the 'flaked ones and bullets aren't all rusty by next year. I have got seriously tempted to take this temporary look further after seeing this photo though.

i do like moons but they do make your car look a little too slab sided and uniform.
but it is nice to change things about :-)
how do they fit on?

Sory mate but those moons don´t look half as good on the Hillmann as they did on the Saab.

The Moons are only on there for winter so that the flaked wheels don't go all rusty I could have bolted on the slot mags I've got (and enjoyed the irony of running alloys over winter to keep my steels good ) but decided to do something a bit more "me". The rears are attached to some BMW plastic hubcaps so just pop on the Mondeo rims. The front wheels are earlier Minx 15" rims and they don't have a good ridge for retaining a full hubcap. So rather than drill the rims I decided to weld nuts to them and the discs are held on by stainless button head screws. \/ Bit of an old screw with a hacksaw slot in it to prevent any weld getting into the thread.

thats a neat solution!
I was planning on butchering my existing hubcaps with some cut sheet steel to make some homebrew moons for the 106, as the existing hubcaps are curse word and broken anyway.
I should add - yours look good, just not quite AS good as the steels :-)

Nothing new particularly other than a change of stereo. After getting a puncture in one of the 175/65's I had on the back I found a pair of 185/55 winter tyres which are the size I originally wanted so thats what went on instead. Work better with the front tyre profile I think. I didn't have any decent photos of it with the Moon discs on though so earlier today I stopped off at a location I'd spied last year . Nice period town houses I reckon and a quiet dead end too with no moderns in the background Bolted the green wheels back on now and chucked some EP85/140 in the diff to see if it gets a little quieter.

I got one of them, the pass side one. I've since decided I may as well cut up the wing I have for the drivers side as I need the front section and the rear/lower bit too.

That's smart Always wanted to lower the stance of my Superminx but never found the time and/or parts (and come to think of it, money!) to do it. I remember fighting that black cack in the fuel tank too, it would flake off and bung up the outlet pipe. I had so much of it in the fuel pump it was untrue. Despite taking the tank out several times and trying to wash it out, there was still always that much more left that didn't want to come off. I think it's a mixture of modern fuel and the fact that the tank had sat up dry for about 20 years. Either which way it was always a fun car to drive and always got a lot of attention that it didn't deserve All the better for when it gets the attention and deserves it, like yours. --Phil

Thanks guys. Vivaboy, only the three - which is far fewer than many others seem to! Lexx, to be honest I wish the panels were all the same colour. I'm having internal wranglings at the moment about that. April and into May should see it getting some attention.
