Hi something a bit different, not sure if its quite retro but definitely classic This is our Sentinel S4 Singleway tipper waggon, Rebuilt by my dad over 20 years from a pile of bits. It has a 4 cylinder poppet valve engine and 3 speeds, It was new to Aberdeen corporation Electricity works and worked with them until the 1960's and was then converted into a tractor unit to haul a showmen's engine to shows and carnivals it was then dismantled and rescued by my dad in the 1980's, I Haven't got that many pics on my computer at the mo but will try and get some more of it when it was being rebuilt. Has been on the road now for 5 years on and off and is shown around the south during the summer. Cheers Matt

Fantastic machine! Well done to your dad for rescuing and renovating it, it's really great to see something like that fully operational If you do get hold of any build-up pics, or particually pics of it as it was found i'd really be interested

Congrats! You win the special forum award for biggest and slowest vehicle! Good work by your dad to stick with it for 20 years. Am I the only one thinking it needs whitewalls to go with the red wheels

An awesome bit of kit, even if it's slow! Now then, how does one go about turbocharging a steam engine....? ;D

Great stuff, definately interested in some "build pics"
What sort of engine does it have?
and I thought it was difficult to get spares for mine.... ;D
Not just biggest and slowest also one of the oldest on here!
Agree with Anglia 68, bit of signwriting would just finish it off nicely, has your dad got any plans?

Posted by v8lee on Yesterday at 7:27pm Marvelous! Do you get out of paying the conjestion charge with that? Not sure about the congestion charge never tried taking it into london i'm sure we could cause plenty of congestion though ;D Posted by oldbus on Today at 5:18am Agree with Anglia 68, bit of signwriting would just finish it off nicely, has your dad got any plans?Yer i'm teaching myself signwriting at the mo so hopefully before the show season it will be in its original livery although it will be a guess as we haven't got any pics of it as it left the factory all we know is that it was green with white or cream writing on the front panel and on the tipper body. The main plans are to get some signwriting on it and hopefully get the tipping ram manufactured and bolted up for this year and hopefully operational by next year! Spares are few and far between secondhand spares go for silly money and new tyres are £400+ each! Will get the build pics from me dad and hopefully put them up over the weekend will also find out some info about the engine too as I only know a little Cheers Matt
