oh, it's steam powered!
fancy. They call them Road Locomotives apparently? That's wacky. so, what exactly does it use for fuel? is it an internal or external combustion steam engine (I'm in the dark about steam powered cars...)

fantastic, not only is it one of the craziest looking vehicles going round, but it has one of the coolest names as well!

It runs on steam coal.
The engine is basically the same as a diesel engine but has 2 camshafts (inlet and exhaust) these are adjusted by levers in the cab which allow more or less steam into the cylinders. It also has a super heater in the boiler which basically does as it says on the tin it super heats the steam before it goes into the engine, this improves engine performance and efficiency.
It has a two speed gearbox and no clutch and the foot peddles (brake and accelerator) are the opposite way round to on a car
