What have I done? As some of you might know, in an attempt to grab myself some trackday action and having been impressed with BC's track day Monza, I acquired this in exchange for a C30SE 24v engine I had spare. Now to be fair, I knew when I took ownership that it had slightly more than it's fair share of tinworm infestation, but figured it was saveable. However, I've finally gotten round to starting work on it and I think I've kind'a frit myself. The car has evidently had a lot of work done to it in the past. Some of it being quite major. This tells me that the car's been looked after. so how on earth did it get into this state!?!?!? So I'm in a quandry. What do I do? Do I........ a) Scrap it and find another? b) Patch it and thrash it? c) Do it proper. (Could take a while that one!!) Pictures speak a thousand words............... Starting the stripdown................... Outside the offside 'A' panel.................. Inside the offside 'A' panel............... Nearside 'A' panel................ Turrets, (or should that be tourettes!?!?!?), showing lots of patchwork. Offside................... Nearside................... Rear wheel tubs from the inside!!! Front chassis legs. (Note the repairs!! Loverly!! : ....................... And some other incidental shots from around the car................. I forgot how much fun removing a dashboard is!!! And whose bo11ockin' bright idea was it to put that fappin' bolt above the steering column!?!?!? The sunroof's also out. They don't give up easy do they!?!?!? So I'm looking for inspiration and/or advice from those that know. What'dya think I should do?

^ pmsl at MrB - you've repaired worse than that I know!!!
Take your time - fix it proper - keep you busy over the winter ;D
Phoenix C will put you right on turret repairs that will make the car stiff as hell even without a cage
Finding a near perfect Monza and then to rip that apart to make a track day one is not really an option
Power up the grinder Spark up the welder Get in Get on Get it done
You'll know every inch of the car by the time it's done

More than I could cope with. But you're not me, are you? Crack on with it mate, just think of the sense of achievement you'll have when it's done and you're blasting around a track.

Can't stand one downmanship!!! ;D You're right though. I want to do it right so I don't have to keep going back to it. And if I did sell it, I could do so with a clean conscience.

looks a bit like my fiesta, patchwork and rust wise..
the pro is that you can't be accused off nagging off a monza in perfect condition on the track. cos it's a bit curse word to begin with it can only get better!
fix it up and give it some good old tramping round the track!

how long would it take ya? Seriously or was it a rhetorical question?? I reckon once I've cleared out all the unnecessary and cut out the sh1t then it won't actually take that long to stitch back together again. Mind you then I have to rewire it, put all the runnnig gear back in, paint it and get it running, so f*ck knows really!!

Is that Monzaiains old car? I nearly got that myself when he offered it up. It was just the distance that put me off. Looks to have gone in pretty much the same places as mine had. Pretty sure mine will offer up a few more surprises when I finally get round to stripping it. When you get it stripped down as far as yours is you know there is nothing left to shock you. Get it done
