Nick - hope you're bringing this to the next RR meet ;D Looking increasingly unlikely I'm afraid hoping to get some bits done on it tomorrow, subject to space... hopefully that god-awful Kadett is going, so I will have enough room to work around it. Oh, and having 'issues' surrounding registration / taxation too.

Today's super minx update is brought to you in association with the emoticons & I recently attempted to do a 'final push' on this car. But came unstuck when trying to sort out the front brakes, which having been stuck on, decided that stuck off was a more attractive proposition. Due to a chronic lack of time (and a hatred for fixing brakes) I bit the bullet and entrusted the car to the local classic specialist, with a view to it being done prior to this weekend... giving me just enough time to run around getting an MoT and then going to the DVLA office to sort out the taxation woes. But they haven't even started it. BUM BUM BUM. I ideally wanted the car ready for the local show on the BH monday, and mega-wanted it on the road for 'duties' at my mates wedding on the 12th. Looks pretty unlikely now, huh. I believe it was the late Douglas Adams who said: I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. Ho-hum.

Just as a thought which might make you feel better. In late January the weather broke a bit so I started on the carb conversion on the Chrylser. Then towards the end of the month I decided that it was taking me too long and punt it over to a mate in the trade so it would be finished and back on the road by the time Em finished work at early March. Well mid feb finally came and he picked the car up and last I spoke to him was Monday and "well, its at least back in the workshop now, still got to fabricate the fuel lines and a few other things, refit the aircon...
Hmmm... I can see it being June before I get it back. In fact when I renewed the tax end of Feb I thought "maybe I should SORN it" but thought, nah its only 2-3 days work really. So I have lost 2 months tax I paid for already BAH.
I could have finished it myself by now.

Well, the Super Minks [sic] saga rumbles on. I have just delivered the car to Keefy & Larry at retrocustom who are gonna have a crack at it. Hopefully there's not going to be acres of welding. If there is, well pre-68 is coming I guess! ;D As an aside, when I got the ca down there on the A-frame, I boshed a jump lead on it and it ran pretty much first click after sitting for months. Nice. Stand by your beds for further updates.

Hoorrah! I'd been wondering what was happening with your fleet after your recent ebay cull-athon. ps. You do realise you might get your car back on a beetle floorpan with an engine at the wrong end...
