I'm not allowed to sell the Humber, seriously. I've mentioned it occasionally as I'd sometimes like a change but Mrs Sniper says absolutely not. Even if I mention that it will need some money spending at some stage, ideally a respray and some rechroming, neither of which will be cheap or add any value to the car, the answers, OK but we're not selling. The others can come and go as and when I feel like it, she's not fussed although I think she'd prefer the Volvo to go! I don't know I go out for the day and look what he does! I know the Humber needs some work doing and money spending on it, but [glow=red,2,300]YOU ARE NOT GOING TO SELL IT [/glow]or I'll tell mum that you've started to roof chop the Hawk that she jointly owns with you. The Humber does everything we want: we can get into classic & rod shows with it, we can go out for family day trips, we can drive it down Bramford Lane with it's 100's of speed bumps without grinding the chassis, it will go into the lock up which is cheaper and nearer than the barn. When we broke down coming back from Billing, I was more worried about the car than I was you. Poor thing, stranded on the A14, for hours and not being able to go anywhere. Then it sat for weeks in cold and wet on the driveway. I even bought it lovely cover to keep it dry. (Gosh, I started to sound like Mrs Gillberry now!) No the Humber stays and that's that.

I always said I'd never sell the Skyline C210, but after 9+ years and 42k miles in it I did. Despite taking it to Norway twice, one of the trips being our honeymoon, and many other great trips in it.
My limited mechanical skills meant it was getting to be an expensive chore for me to keep on top of jobs and it rarely got used over the last year or two. But I wasn't going to sell it until I knew it would go to a good home. Hopefully it has...
The alternative would have been for me to park it up until the children were older and I had more spare cash to get it sorted properly, but what good would years of standing do it?
It didn't raise a lot of money, enough to buy and sort the Laurel hardtop which I get nearly as much enjoyment from. I'd like to keep that for a while and gradually sort its smaller list of requirements, we'll see.
The Accord is part of the random rolling third car policy, so undoubtedly that will go soon. Too many cars I want to sample!

Bit of both. Not sure how many cars I have owned since I passed my test in 93, but if its not into three figures it will be very close. There are so many cars I have always wanted to own for different reasons, so I want to try them all. I have had my MK1 escort 11 years now and I will never get rid of that, its only been on the road one full year in all that time but I did use it for 3 years autotesting. I`ve had loads of offers to buy it off me but it will never go. My monza is a keeper as well I enjoy it too much to consider getting rid of it.
I have a feeling my 635csi will be a keeper if I ever pull my finger out and get it restored.
The only car I regret getting rid off was my AE86 and hopefully at some point in the future I will get another

Nah, I like to chop and change. I said once I'd never sell the Alfasud, but I did after 8 years (I bought it at 16 years old!!!) and although I feel a tiny pang of regret, I'm almost glad I did...
However, as decent older cars get harder and harder to find, and prices keep escalating, I'm entertaining the idea of keeping the KP forever... it always makes me smile, plus it was number 3 in a long line of KP's, and THE ONE I swore I'd do justice to. I love it.
The Honda won't be a keeper, it's a 1997 car after all, even if it is destined to become a modern classic... will be replaced with something faster in good time, maybe in about 5 years or thereabouts.

I remember falling madly in love with my brother's Opel Rekord, many many moons ago. I was nearly 10 years away from getting a license, but I still blubbed like a girl when he sold it What I'd really like someone to explain, is why I feel so strongly about the Datsun. It's as ugly as sin, handles like a turd, and is currently kicking out around 10 bhp, yet I have no intention of ever letting it go (unless my income suddenly doubles...), I even have plans to lavish some alloys & new paint on it. Partly I feel sorry for it, because I know the next owner would just weigh it in, but I'm also feeling a very perverse attraction to it. I think I need help

People have been taken to court for shagging sheep, Pavements and Austin Metros, proving that your innocent attraction is quite normal. ;D PS: Should a Lamborghini Miura ever make eyes at me, I shall gladly plead guilty in court.

Had the Kadett for 11 years now. It's the first car I modified properly, been to christ knows how many show with it as well as daily duties and if I don't use it for a few weeks I can guarantee that someone I don't really know will ask if I still have 'that yellow car' cos they ain't seen it lately JS nearly passed out when I mentioned flogging it a couple of years ago! I always say it could go, but now I'm not sure I could actually go through with it. Likewise the Min is in for the long term and I'll see about the 'E once it's on the road. More modern daily stuff just passes through, when I get bored or someone bids on it, it's gone.

Mechanic's rule #1... If the car works, anything left on the floor after you finished wasn't needed in the first place

My father bought the Amazon when I was 13 as a cheap & practical everyday car during my parents' divorce & I 'acquired' it when I was 22, so I can remember it being there for much longer than I can remember it not being there, if that makes sense!! Not surprisingly, it's been considered part of the family for a long time now and as a result I have no intention of ever getting rid of it ;D
