If we blatantly ignore the principle of the test they will end up taking it away from us. It was the Cobra boys doing this sort of shenanigans that have got the engine verification dating stamps part of the test added with all the extra expense that incurs. Putting comments on public forums on how to 'cheat' is rubbing the DVSA's noses in it. Virtually ANY seat will pass IVA, if you are so unimaginative or lazy as to have to cheat on something so basic then really you should not be building a car. |

Did jonomisfit not build some bomber seats for the Morris or am I misremembering? I've made some seats. A sort of mix between bucket, bombers, and a Swiss cheese. I aimed to comply with SVA requirements. My only concern area is around radii. But my plan is to trim where needed which will resolve this...... if I ever get back onto the car.... |

Remember too how the commercial vehicle test got re-written because people took the p!ss. |

A lot of points raised, I've spoken to people who've said about doing stuff just to pass BIVA but that's not me, build it right and build it once. I'm not here to fornicate with arachnids, I'd rather it was all done and I didn't have to strip the car down to remove some tat I've slapped on to pass a test.

Well this has been a while coming, apologies. Cutting out a multitude of wiring is both incredibly dull and incredibly time consuming...
However! With some jerry rigging, and eventually remembering to plug the f***ing immobiliser back in. This happened:
I still can't believe it runs! No wiring diagrams and no real idea what I'm doing half the time, it fired right up first turn of the key and man does it sound rude without an exhaust! Well chuffed and now we can start looking to invest into it a bit more knowing it works.
We did think the gearbox let go at one point trying to test the speedo only to realise it had popped out of high range but not gone into low range sort of like a second neutral hahaha.

If you do make a full exhaust system for it, maybe also make a little stub that exits out the bonnet for "shows only".

I'd like to make a show exhaust, no bonnet exit though as I don't want to gain the same 'reputation' as a certain Healey Sprite that used to be on the scene... |

Good progress, not sure about the air intake position, will it be drawing warm air? ‘Cold’ is usually better … just a thought 🙂
