Happy New Year everyone! Truck is done for now until the Springtime when we put the graphics back on the bedsides. An application of glazing magically removed any minor swirls left from the buffing process. I moved it outside to give it a bath and took a few pics. I was a little nervous when fitting the flares back in place, but apart from having to massage one of the bolt holes, they went right in, fit tight and look good.... the tailgate needed a bushing.... and outside this could be a favorite shot thanks for all the support and good wishes. JP In a word... IMPRESSIVE. Well done JP, you can be very proud.

Thanks to this forum for the inspiration to even take this project on. I have simplified my forum viewing as of late. Retro Rides is my top choice and go to for good honest repair and restorations.
Thanks to everyone who posts up their projects and shows how it was done.

JP Without getting all philosophical about it - the sharing of knowledge through others on the forum goes a long way to giving confidence to having a go yourself - providing that you open to that concept then they should not be any barriers

So an update on the Tacoma: My buddy wanted to try his hand at taking on some small projects on the truck and I said I would gladly help out. We started off with him coming down to the garage once a week. We got the rear bumper cleaned up inside and a few other various jobs taken care of like the AC compressor replacement. Well, then the lockdown happened and we have been doing remote mechanics!...He has gotten the repair bug and taken on several larger project on the truck. the front end was to be next on our list of things to fix. He has been doing a great job with the area behind the front bumper and under the front fenders dealing with rust and corrosion on the frame and inner fenders... so heres the work he has been doing: Battery tray area: radiator support area: front bumper support: Front suspension and frame treatment: inner fender under the battery tray area: and he has found that this product works well on softening up rust and is also a treatment for it. it is paintable.... thanks for looking JP
