A bit about the car, it was being run as a feature car in Classic Jaguar Magazine and so if you read that mag you may recognise it, it'll have it's last feature/mention next issue after I've picked it up.
It's a 95 XJ6 meaning poverty spec, cheapest XJ you could buy, so obviously manual transmission (auto was £1000 extra apparently) no air con and half leather/cloth seats and I love it!
It's was owned, prior to the seller, by an elderly gentleman who bought it in 2002 and he has looked after it fastidiously until he sold it last year, it really is the most solid of any X300 I have ever seen and the interior is close to immaculate.
Usual pics will follow, including pick up shenanigans and the game of, what previous owners items will we find inside the car.

Well that view is identical on a late XJ40 to an early X300, but thought there’d be more manual XJ40’s about. My dad bought an M-Reg X300 XJ6 3.2 new in Brooklands green. That was an Auto, but otherwise low spec with only half leather and plastic wheel trims. Was 10 years old and on about 108k when he got rid iirc and was no trouble at all. By that time I was driving and used to use it occasionally. |

Lovely Jag, saw your other thread, I'd rather have this than a Vectra personally. Well that view is identical on a late XJ40 to an early X300, but thought there’d be more manual XJ40’s about. Wow, don't think I've ever seen an XJ without alloys, even the Police spec ones I've seen had them. |

Have been discussing this car pre-purchase, (a lucky vitessetony spot only yesterday), base spec once but manual examples are hen's teeth now so 'base' is more desirable. I'm sure there won't be any nasty surprises and this is a car that can easily be brought up to a fantastic standard. Great buy, definitely a keeper, very jealous! |

Hell yeah love pov-spec Jags. Especially manual ones. Always wanted to do a British BMW Bavaria by taking a pov-spec XJ40 5-speed and swapping in the 4.0l, but a manual 4.0l popped up so I bought that instead  in my defence, I have got manual seat rails to swap into it |

Have been discussing this car pre-purchase, (a lucky vitessetony spot only yesterday), base spec once but manual examples are hen's teeth now so 'base' is more desirable. I'm sure there won't be any nasty surprises and this is a car that can easily be brought up to a fantastic standard. Great buy, definitely a keeper, very jealous! Thanks for keeping it a secret! Couldn't agree with you more if anything it's sunrooves that get me. Good for nothing other than introducing rust to your roof and bird poo to your interior |

If I'd known there was ever a manual id have looked a lot harder at these, and I prefer pov spec for the same reasons, basic motoring I saw one today i pass a lot, and only because of this thread i noticed it had Jag wheel trims and not alloys, never noticed, mainly because i thought alloys were standard. Nice buy |

We have other cars they can ruin for daily duties, namely Mrs VTs Dacia Sandero and the electric Zoe. The Jaguar will be for me to enjoy, I like to keep my cars clean, I wear a different set of clothes for travelling to work and back and leave my work clothes at work, for a variety of different reasons, but also it helps to keep my cars clean. I sometimes even have a shower at work on occasion depending on what I've been up to in the day! I never allow drinking or eating in my cars, the wife isn't so fussy in her car. She knows when I drive it next I'll clean it up!! So positively no Children allowed, filthy little beasts! |
