Very nice build and interesting to read also. Could you tell me more about your car ramps sizes? I'm looking for some, but can't decide which one would be my ideal solution.

Very nice build and interesting to read also. Could you tell me more about your car ramps sizes? I'm looking for some, but can't decide which one would be my ideal solution. Thanks! Regarding the ramps, I'll try and remember to get measurements when I'm next over at my unit. If I remember correctly, I just bought them on ebay randomly. I do have two sets of ramps, one is slightly longer than the other and thus has a better ramp angle for lower cars, but it's not that much of a difference. Anyways... last saturday I started on the rear suspension. Got everything out so I could remove the torsion bars as I will no longer be running them with the new coilovers. Happy to report that all the bushings and such in the rear suspension still looked brand new, so I didn't see fit to replace them. Only a brake hose was porous so I kinda went all out and ordered new braided brake hoses, drilled discs, pads all around and two new rear calipers. So got the main axle back on the car and that's as far as I got last week. On Wednesday I got the trailing arms, sway bar and the coilovers in. Today I continued on and installed the brakes and drive shafts... And then it was finally time to put it back on it's wheels and see how it looks! Left side front wheel has a 15mm spacer for testing purposes, it looks good but considering that the top of the wheel will come out a bit again once the camber is corrected with an alignment, I think 10mm spacers (or 7mm since I seem to only find these instead of 10s) will be the safe bet and it will look perfect. I'm really happy with the outcome. Next to do is to do the front brakes which I will do sometime next week, then get it aligned.

That looks how a 944 should look in my mind. Well done.

Thanks! I am happy to report that the car was at the TÜV yesterday and all the modifications got approved! So now I'm also legally allowed to drive it again with the mods. And also... I, uh, I kinda bought another one, even though it was totally not planned. A '79 924 in need of a lot of love. Sat for a long, long while and the guy who sold it to me made a start on restoring it, but didn't get very far. Will be bringing it home on Sunday. Will likely be a while once I can start on the build, but this thing will get back on the road. The best thing? The price. Just 1€.

Yesterday we had a bank holiday here in Germany. As is tradition on this date, there was a big Porsche meet in Dinslaken. Usually over 2000 cars. I took the 944 and had a good time - and even managed to snag some inspiration for the 924... Rest of my photos from the event can be found here: www.tiefundbreit.com/?p=12726Also, I just got done booking my ferry and hotel for the Weekender. So stoked! See you guys at Goodwood!

I've arrived in the UK, Portsmouth to be exact! Car handled the trip perfectly, no issues whatsoever. There's a small rattle coming from the exhaust since a few days, so that will need adressing soon. Anyways, see ya on the weekend at Goodwood - come say hi if you see me!

Long time no update! Weekender was a blast! After I got back to Germany, I remembered that I had a cool old steering wheel sitting in my garage and went about freshing it up and installed it in the Porsche. 32cm diameter, so feels like driving a go kart. After that, in June, the car was present for a few days at PS Days Hannover, a medium-sized modified car expo here in Germany. After that, a small car meet in the woods called Unterholz. Chill vibes. Back in August I went to the UK again for Rollhard show, together with my friend Lukas and his 944 S2. Small shooting on the way back home: And Lukas' co-driver took some nice rollers on the way home! Apart from that, no major news. The car has been dead reliable this year and I've been enjoying it to the fullest. Currently it's pulling daily duties as I've sold my Mondeo three weeks ago. Replacement daily is already sorted, but still needs some work. It's old enough to count, so I'm gonna open a thread once it's registered. I'll tell you what it is, though: It's a '96 Golf VR6.

You've done an excellent job on this, it looks just right as it is.
I used to have a 91 944 S2 and a 96 golf VR6 so in my opinion you have great choice in vehicles.
The VR6 makes a great noise, mine was a 3 door in hot chilli red with cloth recaros, climatronic AC and 17" Audi TT Competition wheels.
good luck with the 924 as well!

After my last update I decided to sand the finished wheel again - last time I had only sanded them to 2000 grit, but now I followed up with 2500, 3000, 5000 and 7000 grit. This made the shine even better and if my logic checks out, should keep them looking nice for longer. I think the finer I sand, the denser the material will become and the longer the shine will hold. I now have three done, the fourth is already sanded halfway - just some more sanding and polishing left then it's time for assembly.

All done! Just re-assembly left to do, get the tires back on and then finally put them back on the car. I'm excited This is how these wheels should've come from the factory.
