For the interior/exterior etc use those striping disc's. They are brilliant. don't put much pressure on them, let them spin and they even last well. Nice to see a kid interested.... Thanks we will be having a go next week with them |

Bit more success with the flap wheel on the grinder Slow job but we’re getting there Rear panel cleaned up and started the underbody  Oh and we managed to placate the wife after buying those new wheels! Her car needed two new tyres, saved her spending out We fitted the mondeo gti wheels and tyres we had bought for the van Everyone’s happy!  |

Parts chasing today, used the estate as I was not putting wheels in my car son !!! Picked up RS turbo seats another set of wheels st mondeo ones The superlites unfortunately we’re not the right offset I did know this when we bought them But thought they wouldn’t be too wide, but alas they were So we’ve got the st rims to refurb George was at work most of today so I did more derusting work for a few hours underneath Colour decided Between us so we’re cracking on with a target for next years show season   |

I was offered one of these vans cheap.
The owner says its rusty around the spring mount (what it failed the test on).
I can find any repair sections. I don't suppose you know of any?
My mates van is on Escort Cossie versios of those mondeo wheels you have and they are awesome looking but very expensive.
Growing to like these, thanks.

Great to see young George getting stuck in, great way to learn. For the underneath, I used to clean back to bear metal using a variety of powered wire brushes and flapwheels.
Treat with a rust treatment of your choice. I used to favour Jenolite but I understand the stuff you are using has good reports.
I then used to prime with a red primer.
On a white car, For under the arches etc I used to use Parsons Re-Paint as I read somewhere that it had good rust resistant properties. I think it was re-branded Finnigans or something and it has long gone, folk don't brush paint cars anymore, well, not many. I think is was some sort of synthetic enamel, a bit like Hammerite but with perhaps more plasticiser in it. I think some of the specilaistbpaint suppliers still supply the same type of paint.

George has carried on fighting the tinworm Plenty off work on the rear and underbody again   Me?? Well I cracked open a few beers and got on with refurbing the ST alloys and cleaned up one of the rs turbo seats George and the Mrs picked graphite grey for the wheels....colour has been decided for the van but I can’t divulge yet!!    |

Went off to the factory that makes the vactan
Rust treatment after work today, picked up a couple of litres for £25,great stuff it is and well worth trying
George is off to tunerfest at Brands hatch Sunday with his girlfriend so I’m left to get on the underbody again!

I think it's our dad's fault that a lot of us are here, I vividly remember being under my dad's Cosworth polishing (read wiping for hours with no polish) the stainless exhaust while it was up on stands, and he used to get me to clean the wheels because my tiny fingers could get in the spokes  lead by example can, you're setting a great one  (Also, I had an escort van at 18 10 years ago, by far the best car ever for the teen about town, slow enough you won't get into trouble, but kitted out like a mobile living room in the back, brilliant |

Bit of a busy day today, replaced the droplinks on my car w211 Mercedes Then family duties, George came home from work and we got the van out of the garage and up on stands ready for me to Work on Sunday whilst he enjoys a day out at Brands hatch! Not much room to work but should be all ok ,   |
