So I’ll introduce young George’s latest project We’ve jointly purchased this 2002 escort 75 diesel van A bit of a longer term project with George doing more in depth work than done on his escort estate The estate was his introduction to the scene , now the van is a project to tackle together, were already disagreeing on colour choice !! The van is basically very solid and has sat unused for a while, there’s not many tidy ones left now and not many tastefully modded ones I’m going to try to let George do all the updates on This one again any advice or comments are always welcomed, and we both thank Dan and Rick for sourcing the van for us Enjoy the thread cheers Danny and George

I'm genuinly interested to see how this one turns out. As father and son you are bound to have disagreements as to how certain things should be done, but I'm sure you'll both meet in the middle and create a cool ride. I'm sure it means alot to both of you to both put put your efforts into one car, and in turn the car will mean alot to the both of you.
Ill be keeping an eye on this one.

Great stuff, the thing I miss most about my dad not being around anymore is not being able to build cars with him so hold on to the happy memories

So "bad-boy" bonnet. 14" body-colour windscreen tint. Seat frames removed and seat bolted to floor. Surgically affixed, rearward facing, baseball cap. Cut springs in front Flipped axle in rear. And an "if the vans rockin', don't be knockin" window sticker yeah???

Your van looks in better condition than the ones we used to run back when that was the current escort van shape.
I miss working on cars with my dad. I learned so much about cars and working on them from my father & we could never agree when it came to colour choices either. I remember looking through the colour chips when we were getting the paint for my first car. We must have been in there hours and I can still remember taking all the colour chips outside to look at them in the sun. Saying that it did look stunning when done. I really wish I still had it and am so tempted to paint my current car in the same colour.
The memories of working on the car with my now sadly late father is one of the reasons I have just bought another project. Working on cars has to be one of the best ways of father/child bonding. My eldest is slowly getting more interested in helping with the cars & is now starting to count down to when she can legally start to learn to drive (she is 15).

I think George should fit the back out with lining carpet and seating and rig up an inverter to power a tv and games system. Get some led lighting and maybe even a little cool box for coke. It would be ace. Keep us posted

Mondeo 1.8 TD goes straight in AFAIK. Endura DI (Focus TDDI) is doable, with a bit of wiring to do.
