New Zealand might be an option for spare parts. They have a few cressidas and CROWNs kicking around still. There is a website called megazip, that offers exploded diagrams of Toyota's, you can use it to compare parts between models, etc. I've found it quite useful.

varelseI know, i am also on oldschool.co.nz, my facebook friends have grown on that side of the planet and as we speak parts are on their way from Australia, and have been from japan, thailand, new zealand,... but luckily also uk, the netherlands, germany, swiss, france,... Finding parts for a CROWN is a real challenge but I kind of like that but also get fed up with it sometimes...

Don’t know if you’ve already done it but someone on here cleaned the inside of their tank by chucking a few nuts and bolts in and attaching it to a cement mixer. Genius!

Finally i am getting close to finishing the work on the fuel tank. Found 3 holes, applied some tin, rusttreated the outside, then treated the inside with restom products... replaced some lines to the breather thingy and this weekend got some black paint on the outside. Still 1 broken bolt to drill out and get some padding where there was some between fuel tank and booth floor and where the spare wheel is touching on the outside and get it back under the car.

Some finishing touches... M4 hole drilled but not tapped yet as it is a blind hole and my M4 tap isn't suited for that, need one that starts cutting real thread faster (you guys know what i mean...)

That tank cleaned up nicely. Very cool wagon besides, love the shape of these. Will it be your daily driver when you're done?

I now have working lights... (kinda was my fault they didn't work and it shrted out all the time but I really don't like the electrical part of restoring a car, I'm pretty much clueless all the time...) Still no indicators though. They work if I turn on the hasard lights, so all 6 together work but when only using left or right they blink one time, then they stop, then I need to tap the box that controls the blinking part of it and then they blink again one time and stop again so will pull that box this evening and check if I can clean that thing or see something obvious... If anyone has tips or tricks, shoot. I think at one time they went ok after pulling all the bulbs, somewhat clean the bulbs and sockets, but that magical repair was temporary apparently, but it can't be much to get them working again I suppose (again, I'm an electrical noob) Thanks for watching.

If tapping the relay resets it, surely the flasher relay just needs replacing?

So, small confusing update.
My indicators stop after blinking once with contact on but not running. They work with running engine but they stop working again when I turn on my lights, again ofcoarse when engine is running...

May be some kind of corrosion in the relay from standing a long time as everything is improving as I am testing. Now they work always when engine is running, with or without lights or high beams, just don't when not running and lights are on... the magical world of electrics...

I have the same problem in my 74 corolla. I think it's a power drop in the relay which makes it stop flashing. When the engine is running the voltage is a little bit higher which makes it work again.
Problem of old bimetallic flashers? I'm planning on putting in a modern flasher unit whenever I'm going back to work on my KE20.

Did it! This is now road legal! Have to get its own registratieon plate now and insurance and such mut possibly driving it by this weekend... At the control station this morning At the gas station on my way back home Still some stuf to adress like coolant overflow bottle seems jammed, radiator cowl is missing, pitmanarm could do with less play, diff marks its territory... Stoked

Expansion reservoir/overflow bottle thingy cleaned and mounted again.
Radiator cowl switch from one of the other CROWNs isn't going to work apparently as the radiator has a slightly different offset to the engine due to not having an oil cooler like the coupes have. I hoped they would have been the same but as they are 4m engined and this is 2m engined there was a chance it would be different. So on the hunt for a 2m radiator cowl at the moment so I don't have to make one from scratch... Ms85 and ms56 are way different aswell...
Pitman arm and small diff leak will be adressed when it is time for the winterstop in a month or so. Now I just want to drive it a bit but still waiting on the plates to arrive...

Been driving this for about 300kms the last month and a half All is well, except for the play in the steering, that will be first to solve once winterstop has started. Done a few small local meetings And decided on the wheels. XR4's it will be to start with. Goods came in to refurb my 7.5 wide pair for the rears. I have 6.5 and 7's that are refurbed but would like to have the 7s in the front and the 7.5s in the rear, so next is some sanding and polishing... Thanks for watching

Some winterworks in the pipeline. Steering has some play as already mentioned but have a pitman arm ready for swapping out And I am busy with new electrics in the garage so had to move some cars for wall access and noticed fuel smell, more than was normal... This needs to be adressed before more driving. Inbetween other stuff I managed to do a small amount of sanding on the suzuka long champs aswell.. That's it for now
