I wish the body on mine was as tidy. What tyres are you using? I’m having serious traction issues on mismatched budgets!

Only Toyo Proxies as they were on offer (4 for £120 and just paid a friend to fit them in his garage) and i don't really love the look of the RA's, but they are dead grippy, not sure why people hate on them so much really.

But RAs are “the right wheel”, I love them, a standard looking car is always worth more, and it keeps people guessing why its so quick!

At first I loved it, but now its guaranteed EVERY time I drive through town and I let off with a really loud recirc chatter everyone looks at you. Sometimes too much attention isn’t such a good thing 🤔

picked up some 1.5 and 2.5" lips for the RS's about a week ago. i've wanted to go a bit wider on them for a while so i've shifted the 1" rear lips to the front from the 0.5" that were on before and put the 1.5" lips on the rear. i did try on the 2.5" lips which made things a bit interesting..but too wide for the car IMG_20180518_213229_367 by Cragmire40D, on Flickr rears now look like this and look much nicer IMG_20180527_224645_575 by Cragmire40D, on Flickr

Shame the 2.5s couldn't fit Not able to get away with g60 arches? no, i think its too much poke.. i'm as tight on the inner side of the wheel as i can be now, this is what i was trying to achieve as i hate that look (from behind) of wheels being too far out. i could get a smaller barrel and run wider lips, but that would involve buying barrels and getting the wheels redrilled to 4x100 and thats going to be expensive guess i can just put the wider lips away for another set at some point.

So i got the car finished up and on the road all ready for my wedding. but sadly was just having too much fun to get any photos with it and my beautiful bride. Managed to get me, my 2 best men and my 2 boys in the car and drive to the venue without much rubbing at all! my wide made up an awesome cake top, she couldnt find a mk2 anywhere but was able to get a nice mk1 kit and made it in her spare time without me knowing. She even managed to get a model of her dragging me away from it! used my pZero Nero's on the rears and moved my proxies up front, i will eventually replace these with Pirellis.

If you’re having traction issues like I did I highly recommend AD08Rs! I’ve got some on mine (actually just put them on the back with A048s up front now) and the difference is night and day, I only get 2nd gear spin high up in the revs now where before it was as soon as boost came on in 2nd and 3rd 👍🏻

Considering these aren’t “mega power” I’ve found such a light car needs all the help it could get. I remember the days of a falken being more than up to the job of taming a 16v 😂
Congrats on the wedding btw 👍🏻

Bali for your stag... DAFUQ? Great build though, sitting perfect for a big bumper Mk2. The engine swap looks great, almost OEM, bet it goes like a scalded cat
