flywheel looks pitted scorched, might be worth refacing ?
seems to be a bit of oil centrifuging from the flywheel bolts too. is that crank seal maybe? the engines i am familair with the flywheel bolt holes in the crank flange are open (i.e the thread holes pass all way through flywheel flange into crank case) so threads need sealing to stop oil going down the actual bolt threads themselves too

the Alfa will be having a full stainless exhaust system built next month too, with sports cats, from the base of the manifolds back. The factory manifolds are stainless too, so it should sound quite good. Think I speak for everyone when I say we're going to need some video evidence after this happens!

I won't blame you for going with the Alfa first, I'd go nuts if I saw that car rolling down the street. Can't wait to see that video too!

I've just switched onto this thread and wow wee those 164's! My Dad used to have a 3.0 V6 in red and pre-face lift so grey bottom half and slim bumpers. We absolutely loved it. The electric seats would stop working in an awkward position, the boot would pop open, the alarm had a life of its own, the wing mirror would do something odd sometimes, yet - plant the right foot and all would be forgiven. It had a very very strange affect on us. Those cloverleafs look absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately alot of 164's were scrapped for the engines to put in Stratos replicas so it's brilliant to see those ones restored. In Alfa red too! Hat's off to you, you have made me very very jealous!

nice job on the Maserati interior! It is very difficult to match 2 different wood type's. I made a walnut dashboard for my MG and made my own Moto Lita type steering wheel with the same walnut veneer to get a good match.

£900 WTF is that all about..., the world is gone mad!
Possibly not much help but may be search for the release bearing by dimensions rather than car/model. Also too, a specialist clutch supplier might be able to supply a different size bearing with matching pressure plate and disc to suit your machine. The glass is half full...as I presume it's Getrag or ZF box?
