	Thanks for all the comments and likes. I am absolutely beaming Grumpy after all the stress. I went on the DVLA website earlier to tax it and they've already taxed it for me! I just need to sort number plates and hopefully go for a quick drive this weekend

	It is currently MOT'd but when I check the mot status I get this After all their faffing about everything being correct, they haven't even put the model name on the log book. Am I surprised? No.

	I had (have) the same when I imported my Saab 900 last year; it's normal for imports DVLA told me. It's because it's MOTd on VIN, not reg.

	Well today I got my new number plates so as I was off work this morning I took the opportunity to get them fitted. Yesterday I washed the van as I hadn't done so since I bought it 2 years ago. It was green with moss and all the little scratches had left lovely orange tiger stripes all down the van. I give these bits a bit of a T cut so it wasn't shouting out "please pull me officer". Well not as loudly anyway. (I didn't wash the roof though as I couldn't be arsed). I put a few litres of petrol in and hit the road. Shades on. Drivers door open, I pulled out of the drive for my first legal drive in the van. I drove down the lane, can of Pepsi just sitting on the flat dash with the wind blowing through my hair through the open door. Well not really as I'm bald and didn't reach sufficient speed to feel even a light breeze. After about a mile I got to the bottom of the lane where it joins the main road. I pulled out and as I crossed the road it stalled and I freewheeled into the conveniently placed bus stop. The van would start but not take any throttle. Luckily I had prewarned the wife to stay by the phone. She came down and gave me a tow home, which happened to be the scariest experience of my life. Once home I stripped the carb and the float bowl was full of curse word. I blew it all out and the van restarted. The pump jet is blocked solid though so I've currently got it soaking in carb cleaner then I'll put it in an ultrasonic bath. I'll try again on the weekend.

The jet is now clear and I've put it back in and engine is running again. I'm on call this evening so haven't chanced going for a drive in case it breaks down again. The break defiantly need bleeding again but there defo bedded in now as my Mrs towed me home with them on all the way. What a rollercoaster ride😃. I'm tempted to get an R12 carb and inlet on as there a twin choke, but I doubt there is many about

	An in-line filter probably wouldn’t go amiss, until the lines are cleared. And a handful of spare ones in the glovebox. 😃

I'm tempted to get an R12 carb and inlet on as there a twin choke, but I doubt there is many about i think there are a few 12 carbs too choose from, I'm sure mines a zenith? unsure if its twin choke though? i may have a coupe of spare r12 solex carbs requiring refurb in a box. ill take a look for you

I can't remember if we cleaned the cab out but judging by the amount of curse word in the carb, probably not. We live and learn
