Herald. Love: Its brilliant fun to chuck about B roads or city streets. Quick enough to suprise people. Hate: Blue smoke means the engine ideally needs work/swapping. Haven't got any bithcin' wheels on it yet! Sun Tor Love: Its a car with a kitchen in the back and you sit on the bed to drive. Rarity. Best condition car we own. Its slowness calms me down. Hate: That whoever resprayed it did such a quick and dirty job. Oxford Love: I've driven more miles in it than all other owners combined. I got engaged in it, I drove it away form our wedding and my daughter came home from hospital in it. The looks you get from driving a rodded old car everywhere. Hate: That after 3 years off the road I was never happy with the bodywork. That it has now been off the road for another year and we & it aren't enjoying it.

Escort
Love'd not caring one little bit about denting/scratching/crashing it cous its was a worthless 4 door and also the way it was just as good at cruising the motorway at 90 as it was ragging it around a local farm track with constant lack of grip.
Hated that it was so worthless that buying any non removable bits or doing any restoration on it was pouring money down the drain compared to the 2 door i have, it had to go.
Fiesta
Love that its not a VW Golf
Hate that its going rusty and that somone bodged the paint work and interior before i had it
Metro
Love that its not a VW Golf
Hate that its not finished yet
Fiat
Love that its not a VW beetle
Hate that the 2pot lump is so funky i need to keep it and it will never go fast :/

Audi 80 (No1) Love: the colour, the interior and the fact I got it started. Hate: the rusty bits, the bodged repairs made by the previous owner's mechanic. The fact that its too good to break. Audi 80 (No2) Love: Its the shape I always wanted and seems to be pretty solid. The fact that the old giffer I bought it off is a star. Hate: I found it less than a week after I bought the other one IN MY OWN TOWN!! and because of this have to hide it from the wife in a distant garage. Also I think it has US style bumpers which will have to go. Golf V6 4Motion daily Love: The engine, the power, the handling and my leather recaros. Also the fact that it goes like an R32 without the stupid bodykit. Hate: Its silver, like every other fugger, It drinks like a depressed scotsman and tries to bankrupt me whenever work needs doing on it. THE IDIOT ENGINE MANAGEMENT LIGHT. There is nothing wrong you TW4T.

Love: The handling and the enormous amounts of fun I can have in it. The FAct its quite nippy Relatively comfortable and reliable
Hate The chav image The exhaust keeps blowing Its not lowered The clutch Release bearing is rumbling Its not retro It rattles and squeaks because its french Everybody else has one Its not a VTS The interior is Ghey The sunroof leaks People mock me because I drive a Saxo Yet I still love the little thing and will definitely have another
Renner 9
Love: Its Rare (ish) It looks awesome! The fabulous rock n Roll Seats The amazing potential it has The fact when I say I've bought it people don't know what it is It has a Turbo I bought it on a whim! Its helping me learn how to fix cars on my own Its a retro I've bought purely because its retro and not because It as cheap. My dad likes it
Hate It won't even start Its more rusty than I first thought Parts availability isn't brilliant Its more of a resto than a quick project My Mam Hates it(although she loves the seats)

Datsun B310Love : The fact that I've not had to do anything to it to keep it running, it passed the last MOT without even so much as an advisory. Hate : Trying to find tuning parts. Smart ForFourLove : Its ace, warm, easy top drive, safe, reliable and economical. Hate : The fact its 4x114.3 and I'm not allowed to change the wheels

Triumph 2500S Love - comfort, style, mean as foooook without bumpers, six pot howl Hate - typical shonky 70's Leyland rust traps! Triumph 2000auto Love - Mk1 shark nose looks, smooth revving 6pot, leather interior, seriously appreciated by the chav brigade because of that Levis advert. Hate - leaky windscreen rubbers, bodged repairs by 'dealer' who sold me it with 12months ticket ( bought blind so my own fault ). Alfa GTV Love - the V6 and a supercharger I have sitting in the garage to fit one day, the fact every time I want to sell it I drive it and fall for it all over again...... ;D Hate - the fact that every time I want to sell it I drive it and fall for it again!!!! ;D ;D Dolly Sprint Love - out whenver I want it to. Comfort and the sleeper shonky old car look. Hate - my bro driving it after it spat a rad hose - so the engine is now only good as a boat anchor ( or tied to his feet for his next swimming session ) Spitfire MK4 Love - the amount of internet info on rotary engine swaps Hate - the fact it's in the UK and so I can't get at it for now. Citroen DS Love - almost everything about it and that after the rebuild she'll be my daily driver. Hate - the previous owners 'restoration' of the electrics meaning I don't know what will blow next time I use the indicators

My Chevelle. Love: It's a V8 convertible muscle car The noise 99% of parts are easily available Fairly quick Rare, out of 450,842 built in 72 only 4850 were convertibles. Not a Mustang Hate: Not especially frugal Could be tidier Too quiet with it's new exhausts Doesn't fit in parking spaces Sunburn. Only a small block

MR2 Love: the looks, pop ups, roof off in the sun (remember that thing?), handling, smallness, big revs, fact that annoying people have to find alternative lifts! Quirkyness, novelty that engines in the back seat and the noise from behind. fact that the footwells and inner wings don't rot like a Ford. piles of potential. Hate: Leaks from T Top, occasional understeer (can be fixed/learnt), rot that i found, not as fast as i'd like, and gutless unless booted, need buckets to fully accomodate long legs, impractical for carrying friends and more than a fortnights shopping. generally a bit impractical. SApph Love: comfyness, reliability, cruisability, looks, RWD daily, handling potential, tidyness. Hate: market value, lack of fun to drive without booting, worry of Ford style rust, lack of retroness or interest off non Sierra pervs! Alarm lock switch, big bus steering wheels, a bit big compared now! V8 3 door Love: rareness , build up standard, weight, components, handling. Hate: the looks sometimes, its not finished, big worry of Ford Rust. Cortina Love: It looks old, clean, history, price, squareness with added coke bottle! Potential Hate: I have to fix it! , rust (not much but still a pain), only a 1600, bit high and wobbly (more work), It takes up the Drive

MGBGT
Love
Adore the looks and they way people look at you when driving it.
Hate
The fact the Heater is about as good as a Pocket warmer, and the fact it always breaks when its fooking winter.
MG Midget
Love
The handling like the thing is on rails, also the fact of once you have tuned the 1500 motor its a right pocket rocket.
Hate
Plastic breakaway Screws in the steering column break far too easy.

Kadett love: Its not an escort Love the way it makes me smile, the constant evolution of it, the Handling is sublime and the feedback from the chassi is almost telepathic. Its not an escort The way the supercharged engine looks right at home The Colour strangely as its so 70`s and saying NO!! to people that say "are you going to paint it ?" ;D The mix of old car feel with modern brakes, handling and engine Kadett hate: Its still sitting in Hollywoods barn looking very sorry for itself at the moment A bit more bodywork that I was hoping for at the moment Cant get it lower without big comprimises on the Handling and practicality which I am not prepared to do as its a daily driver ..... or going 15" wheels which I am still thinking about ? Wasnt fast enough with the 1200.... soon to be rectified Fiat124 Spider "Abarth Rep" Love: The Looks, the price, the surprise of how good it was underneath. Finding a Full set of mint Doors/bonnet/boot/scuttle for sensible money the fact its different and will look superb with the full arches and Fat Cromadoras/ATS Classics ;D The look on Janes Face when I rock up out in France in it for her Birthday Next may ;D..... being presented with it the first time she knows of its existance ;D It will get Jane out of the Ghastly excuse for a car that is her mk3 Goof convertible ;D Hate: Its still sitting in Hollywoods barn looking very sorry for itself at the moment The fact we never got it running before it became part of the "Barn Furniture" The Traffic ;D Love: The fact it swallows all my nomadic curse word without protest Its Comfortable Fast Stops well Handles brilliantly Trailered the Kadett back across country at nearly 100mph ;D And still returns something stupid 40+ mpg even with my Binary driving style Hate: The temptation to tune it Not having enough time to do the Camper kit out at the moment The temptation to Fit some proper sounds and a BFO Screen in it as the dash is massive and the non fitted Passenger airbag space gives me loads of room to play ;D The fact I hit a Truck with it the other week denting what was up till then an immaculate vehicle Not having time to fix said dent and headlight and give it the general care it deserves Golf 3 Convertible Loves: The fact it will be going soon Absolutely nothing about it Hates: Everything about it...... a shockingly bad peice of Automotive "Engineering" for the 70`s let alone the 90`s Does nothing even remotely competant.... wipers don't clear screen above 50mph, lights don't allow you to see where you are going above 50... Ventilation is terrible as to get sensible noise levels inside the car means its hermetically sealed with no through flow at all so the windows end up all scummy inside Scuttle shake combined with woefull damping and huge weight give a ride like a container ship in a storm, no power to allow you to balance it and Standard Golf issue brakes to haul up a car weighing half as much again What were VW thinking designed for the chelsea set obviously Oh and it happens to be a Damage magnet too....... Had it all repaired a couple of years ago and should have sold it straight away...... now there isnt a single unmarked panel on it again Syncro: Love: its go anywhere, any weather, urban guerilla style, the fact it climps mountains in France in full on Blizzard conditions day in day out with never a complaint. Simple (Cheap) parts and easy to fix Hate: The knowledge that it cant survive those conditions indefinately and I am losing the Battle with Ferrous oxide... What am I ever going to replace it with

Volvo 360.... Triumph Dolomite 1500SE:Love - Comfy, it was free, everything works nicely, absolute hoot to drive with a revvy engine, slick box and skinny tires. Hate - Square lamps (ick), runs on sometimes when you stop, not enough torque. Triumph Dolomite Sprint V8 :Love - It. Everything I want in a car! Hate - Haven't picked it up yet

Golf Mk1 swallowtail '75 Love: Rarity, looks, noise the carbs make, novelty of 3-speed kickdown auto - lots of noise, not much acceleration, the fact that it's original aside from a few choice reversible mods. Looks and comments it attracts from other people. No depreciation. Hate: The fact that I've not got round to the bodywork so don't take it out in the rain, destined to live in the garage and not go out much 'til Spring now as don't have time/money to sort it for a while. Golf Mk2 GTI 2L 16v '91Love: Looks (particularly with steelies), handling, performance, all weather useability, old enough to be retro(ish) but still fine for everyday use. The fact that it gets to the Nurburgring, does a few laps and gets home in one piece no problems The fact that it can upset a lot more exotic and expensive machinery. Little or no depreciation. Hate: The fact that it now lives outdoors since I got the Mk1 (only got a one car garage), tailgaters it attracts... though not many keep up. Fact that I spent all my spare cash modifying the engine and couldn't afford to restore the Mk1 this year... Not RWD and since I drove a pal's E30 325i sport I've been having dirty thoughts about getting one... Lupo Sport '00(No pic - too modern) Love: The fact that it needs minimal maintenace and gets my girlfriend everywhere she needs to go quickly and safely. Looks alright, pretty quick for a girls shopping car so can upset repmobiles... ;D Hate: Too much bodyroll to be able to use the power, expensive parts and tyres which are a silly size, not as well made as older VW's. Depreciation!

1984 Type 25 van Love: out tail wagging antics Great handling Amusingly quick for what it is - often surprises people in wibblepoo cars that try to blat past at the lights Huuuuuge inside - transports engines, gearboxes, garage equipment, etc. You can fit a double airbed in the back Hate: Appalling fuel consumption - it weighs a ton and a half and has a Pierguuurgle carb. Nuff said. Zero oil pressure = engine as good as dead That it's my only working vehicle and can't be driven long distances How much the Subaru engine conversion has cost already and is going to cost by the time I've actually got all the parts That I can't really afford to keep it but don't want to be without it 1985 Polo Coupe Love: What it looks like now - i.e. like I imagined when I bought it It has the potential to be the best car I've owned The funky brown on brown on biege interior Hate: It's spent months off the road when it should have been fulfilling daily driver duties That it doesn't actually run yet! That the bike carbs and manifold are shaping up to be an expensive boat anchor That it needs lowering more, despite the fact that I've already done it That I should have left the poor thing alone! 1973 Porsche 914 Love: Pretty much everything about it - looks, potential, what I'm going to do with it It was a steal It's almost entirely rust free and in amazing condition for a 914 It came from California Hate: The fact that all of the above is several thousand pounds and a long re-build away 1974 VW 1200 Love: The roof chop - it looks great! The fact it has racing history That I had one of the best years evAr racing it I've never owned a car for as long as this one. Hate: That I had to take it all apart and start again That it's several thousand pounds away from being a competant drag car again. That it's swallowed a lot of money and is just a bare shell again That it's just a bare shell!

Amazon Love: Fuggin tough (hey, it's a Volvo), tows well, easy to drive with safe & predicable handling, very practical (huge boot & spilt tailgate), good brakes, will cruise at naughty speeds, v comfy, volcanic heater (Seth can vouch for this ;D) and I really like the shape. Hate: Gearbox oil leak (needs frequent top ups), there's still rust that needs dealing with, fuel consumption around town, exhaust catches on speedbumps even though it's at standard ride height, and finally it doesn't handle as well / corner as flat / steer as sharply as the Sprite Sprite Love: Go kart handling & razor shap steering / gearshift never fail to make me smile. Great for ragging on minor A / B roads & 60mph feels like the ton! Hate: will probably need some bodywork soon, useless on motorways as it needs a 5th (or even 6th) gear, can't live out in the street, it's been broken since Sept '05 and I can't fix it as it's now in north Devon.....
