After a few ideas about merchandising being mooted in a number of threads of late, I thought I'd do a little bit of digging to find out how feasable this would be. I have been given a very good quote for getting some T-shirts done, so I would like some suggestions about designs / logos for these. At the moment the quotation has been provided on the basis of t-shirts with the RR banner across the front, but if this is a little too blatant and you guys might prefer something more subtle, let me know. The major cost factor is setting up the design in the first place, so any subsequent designs will be subject to this fee. However, once a design is finalised, it can (in theory) be replicated on a number of clothing styles and sizes, so if there is demand for girly tops, wife-beater vests, pants etc. etc. then this can be done. The greater the demand, the cheaper these things can be done, and you never know, if a little cash is made on these it could always go towards RR displays at shows etc. Anyway, your thoughts please.....

I think it's an idea to have an emblem both front and back.
Maybe a little logo on the right / left at the front, and a slightly larger one across the back.

That looks great, the kind of T-shirt I could wear all the time - not just at shows etc.
I like the colour scheme used on the forum, blue and orange/white.

Exaxtly my thinking too!
How about the blue (background) and black logo (as per wagooners picture), or you could have a taste-full retro orange and maybe blue (Gulf colours)......
I think the best option would be to have a black logo and then just a plain colour shirt - not white though!

The plan so far...... If we can get enough feedback on this, I can get the ball rolling in terms of production, and we can knock heads about how we would go about selling this stuff: Is this possible for you to set up using secure on-line type purchasing with credit / debits? If yes, we could have a little on-line shop in with the front page. If not it will probably have to be mail-order. Anyway, it's quite feasable for us to knock out T-shirts for about a tenner each and make a little bit of profit on each to go into the RR coffers. Who / how this money is looked after is something else to be agreed upon (although administrators, moderators / senior members seems like a good plan...). The costs of other items will again be subject to demand. If the feedback is positive and a design is agreed I could always stump up some £££ to get an initial batch made up...

I can look at sorting an online store to make transactions easier. Also depending on costs I can stump up the funds.

Umm, just thought I'd offer my services - by day I'm a designer (by night a petrolhead! ;D) If designs are a significant cost factor then I can do a few gratis I'm liking Wagoneers design - I'd wear one of them!

Aha! There must be something about designers and retro cars that go so well together! ;D Shouldn't be a problem getting designs together then It could be like an episode of HartBeat where everyone sends in their designs...so who's gonna be Tony Hart?! PS: I believe the collective term for a group of designers is "a bloody gret pain in the " - a technician once told me

Another excellent design idea! BTW, "a bloody great pain in the " is actually the collective term for architects, rather than designers, talk about wanting the moon on a stick, when will they ever learn, rant, rant.....sorry, they've been winding me up AGAIN today......

Ha Ha - too right, only thing worse than an architect....... thats a female architect (I think I can get away with saying that - not many ladies on here! ;D ;D) Anyway, i'd definately buy a RR t'shirt - I do like the 'Gulf' stripe design - but I guess having extra colours adds to the cost? 1st design looks cool also.
