To fill the void having sold my Landie and the Mk1 Ashtray this weekend I have consoled myself with the purchase of something else..... The older 'custom' style stuff we've seen on here of late has just been to much to bear, so I proudly (?) unveil my latest 'stunner'.... A yummy 1966 Humber Sceptre (a.k.a Slumber Septic) complete with acres of primer and a spakamatic gearbox just right for cruising. QuOlIty!! YOW! Just need to book a week of work now and get the b*gg*r painted Oh and cheers to berlinetta / comma-chameleon for giving me a lift to go fetch it

Stunning ride you've got there....no need to paint it though, looks ace just as it is! ;D

LLF = Laughing Like ?! Is that Mrs Weasel I see looking to the heavens and thinking WTF? Why me? Etc etc.
I like it! Looks just tatty enough to muck about with and not worry about the result too much. Needs sidepipes, slot-mags and a fur or dralon interior. Is it on the road and everything?

Sceptrastic! Will you paint it in the colours of that other Humber, ie fifteen shades of brown (I've been to Hull too many times...)

Waaaarrrr it's wicked. Any chance of it driving heavily into the lowering stick as it comes out the paint booth?

Cool!!! Without the chrome waistline strip, the body looks very heavy in comparison to the roof, to the extent that it looks as though it's already been chopped ;D - that will save you some work

What a nutty looking old thing. Good work, no rush with the paint job, bundles of character. You and B/C-C are on top form!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

You and B/C-C are on top form! Ahhhh, and therin lies a tale! Speaking to the seller of this, we learned more about B / C-C's Camper! He used to work for the recovery firm that scraped up illegally parked, untaxed and scrap vehicles in Cambridge... That company scraped up the camper for being 'dumped' and the owner souldn't afford to get it back. Then it got walloped with the forklift in the recovery firm's yard. They sold it as scrap to a fella in Brum for £100 who only wanted it for 2 pieces of trim who then sold it to B /C-C for £31. The Sceptre owner was surprised to hear that it wasn't horridly grotty as when it came in the yard the 'surface patina' and the owner's reticence to reclaim it led them to believe it wasn't worth a bean. Small world purchase. what wheels are you thinking mr pog? Well I Just one These for a tenner so they will do for now
