Here you go Pog. Some inspiration or perhaps some "I don't want to go that far" vibes. Wow!!! That looks great ;D ;D So this is the one that your friend is building - how far has he got, or is the 2nd pic the latest? The reason I ask is since I think there are a couple of subtle tweaks from a design perspective that would really help to hide the saloon origins: 1) Extend the bootlid closer to the rear screen and / or fit a central fuel cap on that infill panel, so that the infill panel doesn't look so long. 2) Extend the chrome trim strip that runs along the edge of the rear fin further forward (perhaps as far as the front door handle), so that there is overlap between the roof and the fin (rather than the fin starting level with where the roof ends). Or, extend the fin recess..... Either way, the idea is to rebalance the visual weight emphasis to integrate the new roof more smoothly, and increase the horizontal elements thus making it appear lower and sleeker Erm, it hasn't progressed much further than that! I haven't touched it in ages, but I'm hoping to get back on it before too long. The front doors are stretched 7", it's hardtopped, and the roof's off a Consul Capri. The fins are gonna be lengthened towards the front of the car, and end further out, further up, further back, and they'll meet at a large chrome bullet where the bootlid is. Then there'll be a mirror image set of fins beneath them (kind of those, but upside down!). There's no side glass, by the way, and the A pillars are coming out to be replaced by a fully removeable MGB roadster polished ali screen surround for that "Look mum, no pillars" look. And loads more besides, if I can ever retreive it from under a dismantled Marina engine, assorted Vauxhall and A60 parts, Yam SRX and Honda ST70 parts..! Dale

Wow! Although I expected nothing less! Nothing can be done FTW, you have already won. Anything else would be a victory lap. Liking Penski's gasser approach idea, that would be awesome!

you can't have a 'bit of pink'.... if you're gonna do anything pink then the entire car needs to be metalflake pink and white, with matching interior.
looking good though, nicely solid too!

Leave it primer, get some slot mags on it, then stick in an Mi16 engine (BX 16v) with throttle bodies with Jenvey/Omex, retro and rampant.
Yeah I know, dreaming again. Well you have to.
