Having a bit of a cull this weekend... Land Rover should be off to a new home tomorrow evening.... Mk1 Astra is being re-homed Saturday lunchtime and Russell's old Manta is off to pastures new on Sat as well. Of course if I was sensible, I'd just put all the money aside for important things. But I'm not, so already the mind is racing with daft ideas... So I'm looking to aquire a new toy to play with... I have this idea of something fairly old (must be pre-73 at the very latest), and preferably not a major project so that I can put some time into making something that turns a few heads. Old-skool 'custom / hot-rod inspired' mods are the order of the day (must be careful though not to create a pastiche or upset any purests!! LOL!!)... Wanna make something that looks great standing still if you catch my drift.. I don't need to create a powerful road burner as I have my BMW for irresponsible driving pleasures Any ideas on 'base points' or anyone have anything available. I'm keeping a pretty open mind on this

Nice, but a bit more than I can justify spending on something that will only come out to play a handful of times a year!

Of course if I was sensible, I'd just put all the money aside for important things. I thought that's what you were doing, hence this thread?! ;D Nothing springs to mind at the moment.... maybe something British?! ....I'll post when I have a more specific idea...

I know of a tidy looking and roadworthy HA Viva for £500, assuming it hasn't sold this week.... I know of another god one that's for sale too (in Dorset) Amazon. For that custom / hot rod feeling. Definately the way forward ;D All are pre '73, performs well, excellent brakes, v comfortable seats and for a car of it's age (& associated classic status) & ability, they are surprisingly affordable
