Had news tonight that we can pick up our new Ridge back puppy on Sunday Our last one had to be put down a while ago, which was a proper choker. This one,my son has named Gilbert(I know : Anyways I need a dog guard, and possibly some sort of seat belt?,restraining device. He's only a puppy at the mo' but obviously will grow to be quite a big curse word,100 lb or so.can anyone point me in the right direction? The last one just kind of flopped in the passenger compartment in the supra, but I'm thinking long term.I really don't want some bloody great thing hurling from the back of the Dub and twatting the family through the screen

Gilbert is an awesome name! Gil or Bert for short.
You tried people like Halfrauds and Argos etc for dog guards. Failing that how about Pet shops.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

can any dog guard stop you getting squashed by Rolf in a crash? Keeping him out the passenger compartment while you are driving/eating a bagel/talking on the phone is one thing, but protecting you from a slavering wolf travelling at 60 mph is quite another.

I'd of thought it worked similar to those load guards in small vans, but now you mention it, how do they securely fit, they are just forced into position arn't they?

A dealer fit one is normally available for modern stuff, but I personally wouldn't like to fit one to an old car (basically pre '80s) as I think it would almost certainly damage the headliner. They fit by having adjustable height feet (some also have adjustable side sections), so you're effectively ramming it into the liner / roof to get it to stay there.

How about getting a larger version of those nets that racing drivers stick their crash helmets in

Or just using a couple of ratchet-straps to secure the dog properly while travelling!

Top grammar tips! Bought = purchased. Brought = relocated Lose = misplace/opposite of win. Loose = your mum
