Wow that Toronado is.... distinctive. Looks great from this view: Looks like it's wearing a gimp mask from the front...

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

I'm deeply tempted by the Olds. 7.5 litres and FWD!
you should see what the dash looks like on one of those. Google is PHAILing me right now.

But yes, the Chevelle saloon is rather tasty. And I love the really token-looking bonnet scoop and half-vinyl roof on the Mercury

Mmm seriously, do I sell the Caddy and buy that Toro? If you were talking about the very first generation Toro, I'd say yes, especially since it is a design classic. Not feeling the love for that one though. Here's my want list '55 Riley Pathfinder'33 Riley 9 Monaco'38 Volvo PV52

Whoa, whoa, whoa! I didn't know they were front wheel drive! I'm not one of them FWD H8Rz, but it just seems totally wrong for such a big car and engine to be configured in such a way. As for selling the Caddy to buy that, I vote No. That Olds has "protracted traumatic project" written all over it, where as the Caddy drives, and drives well.

I think that all the TH425 models feature chains. But then so do loads of 4 wheel drives and most motorbikes. They are not unreliable in service so I'm not sure why all the raised eyebrows over them.
BB: The FWD V8 wrongness of it appeals to me. Aren't you just a little curious to find out how it handles 510 lbs torque through the front wheels? Anyway, I think you are over cautions. I've never found Oldsmobiles to be protracted troublesome projects. Oh, hang on.

I've never found Oldsmobiles to be protracted troublesome projects. Oh, hang on. 510 lb.ft through the front wheels DOES sound like fun! It looks really great, and I can definitely see the appeal. "Like a moth to the light" springs to mind. I'm guilty of this myself! ;D
