right guys I'm back from holidays . . . sorry bout the lack of updates on here! went to holland for a week taking in amsterdam and the lowlands music festival, then had a mad week of finishing the car (got it running on the monday, put the brakes together tues and weds, got it MOT'ed on the thursday, gave it a wash friday and then drove to wales (from kent) in it on the saturday haha
good news is that i got the engine and everything in, ended up having to rewire most of the dashboard with all the looms out of the B4 so i could make the new style instrument cluster and immobiliser work but was worth it as i know its all been done properly I now have the luxury of an electronic speedo, digital odometer and green arrows for the indicators! so was a bit manic in the last few days before we went awayso didnt have time to get any pics on here.
i put it through an MOT as the old one ran out while it was off the road, thankfully it passed first time with one minor advisory on a slight blow on the exhaust, but was well chuffed
then the next day i drove it 265 miles to wales, couple of slight niggles with a tiny water leak from the front coolant flange and then the thing filled up with water in the welsh rain as i forgot to block up the hole where the old alarm wiring went  but eventually got it dried out.
then some complete a r s e h o l e decided to key all the panels down the drivers side while we were in Harlech, lovely place but that put a downer on the day, never mind though as ive decided to resparay the whole thing asnd get it perfect for next years shows
got a list of bout 30 little niggly things to do over the next few days now I'm back, need a new expansion tank as the sensors gone up the spout and a few little bits and bobs to finish off the engine bay.
o and by the way the engine has got nearly 2000 miles on it now, and the thing seriously shifts, completley different power dilevery to the old 8v lump, its kinda dead until about 3500rpm then it comes up on the cam and flies down the road, its so funny watching guys faces in what they think are quick cars as I leave them behind in a 18 year old estate heheheh
heres some new pics i took while we were in wales 8)
outside the cottage where we stayed:
^ got a set of hella duals for the front, tinted the surrounds so they match my tinted indicators, have to say I'm impressed with the light output especially on full beam, the extra two bulbs really make a difference!
on the last day before we came home, this is on the Llanberis pass next to Mt. Snowdon, amazing scenery:
still got lots of bodywork to sort out to get it up to show standard, but am very pleased with the new lump
