Hello all, it has come time for me to pass on my alfa to someone else. She is a 1996 Afla Romeo GTV 2.0ts. I have owned this for just over a year and bought it from this very section.
Straight off the bat I will say that she is an MOT failure and she failed on a few things, mostly welding to sills and brake lines. I will put up a full list for you to read. The car still drives and stops but for obvious reasons would need trailering away.
I am open to offers on price but I'm not after any trades as I am trying to clear my auto plate to focus on one thing.
I have a small thread on the car that I am rubbish for keeping up to date but since buying her I have replaced the gearbox, as it would only go into 3rd, fitted a new radiator and had my first attempt at spraying buy redoing the rear bumper and wing mirrors.
Since owning the car she has performed well and was even pressed into daily duties whist mine and my other half’s cars threw wobblers.
She will come with a very well documented history folder with lots of receipts for parts bought and work done to her through the years.
Included in the sale is the gearbox I took out the car. Initially it would only select 3rd gear but after being moved around the garage a few times it now selects all gears, something must have moved inside. It may be useful or may not but it is no good to me once the car is gone.
The air bag warning light is on but only needs a reset. This was because I had the front seat removed whilst working on the car and started and moved her. As a result it registered the sensor missing.
The car is fitted with a RamAir induction kit and a stainless exhaust which do make a rather nice raspy noise when on full song. I haven’t yet found any make stamped into it whilst under the car but have never had a decent look.
Good bits
- drives well
- lots of history
- its an Alfa
- better handling with smaller engine up front
- Two keys, including red master key
- Recent clutch
- Early model so qualifies for classic insurance
- New radiator
Bad bits
- MOT failure
- High milage
- Driver seat bolster ripped
- Air bag light will require special software/specialist to reset (non OBD port)
- Smaller engine (see above)
- Gear knob worn
- Paint not perfect, bonnet and door
- Car park “dimples”
- Door pins worn
- Boot badge missing
- Lower door seal damaged
Yeah you should ignore the bad bits as they outway the good.
Now for some pictures because thats what we like, these will be a mix of some when I got the car and some recentish ones.

The rear bumper has never sat right since I have had the car but as you can see here there isn't any sing of a rear end bump
