Video from a wee VW Show I arranged over the weekend, was a complete washout at the beginning of the day but finally brightened up near the end.

Nice to see another C5 owner on RR Few and far between I am guessing when it comes to C5s on RR? I picked this one up for a handshake a few weeks ago, a caretaker where my wife works just had it lying in his garage and asked if I would be interested in taking it away... didnt need to ask me twice. So Power washer, oven cleaner and brake fluid, possibly in that order to get it back to its original condition... sounds like a plan

So I recently acquired a Sinclair C5 lately, I am slowly stripping it and bringing it back to life again.
The biggest issue I have with it, is at some stage in life its had a lick of paint, most of it has flaked off... once I have the shell removed from the chassis I plan on power washing it but is there anything I can use on the paint to remove stubborn areas ... which wont effect the plastic?
Many thanks Chris

So is it a melody or a mini melody? NT or NS 50... if its a mini then you can get the on ebay, also try searching Honda Spree which is the american name for a mini melody.
On top of this, what is the engine / transmission number, it should be stamped near the rear brake on the case... something else you could search on, for example if it is an AF05... then itll use the same belt as a Vision.
Hope that helps

Fitted a new stock exhaust at the weekend and gave it a clean before going for a ride in the sun.

Thanks for the comment, I havent changed my rollers yet as I am waiting for the sports exhaust project to be complete so I can tune the CVT to work with the higher revving engine. In theory unless your rollers are far too light it shouldn't affect your top speed all that much, more so acceleration and picking up revs! My variator tops out at 15mph (the rest it the engine rising in rpm) so it can't really affect the top speed of the NX50 at least. If you are down on speed though, check your drive belt, I have heard when they get worn with age they start to get thinner, which lowers the over all gearing decreasing top speed! I am looking to get a wider than standard belt for mine once it is tuned up as I am hoping for 45mph! Aye both belt and rollers are on my to do list, and pulling he restrictor plate from the variator as well... currently tops out about 27-8mph but its got near 8500 on the clock and I doubt its ever been changed lol.

Love the little NX50.
Cant beat nipping round town on a little Moped, I have a Honda NB50 that I use for getting to the train station and trips to the shops, great little things.
Did changing the rollers out for new ones effect the top speed much?

Had the Mighty Honda out last night, it goes well, put 12 mile on it fairly trouble free for its first run out.
I got a slight blow in the exhaust, so I need to look into that, no biggie and I think a smaller fuel filter as the one I stuck in it is massive and kinking the fuel line a little under suspension travel.

Its Def not a VW Handle, Beetle bonnet handle, is smooth with rounded ends and would have a part number embossed inside it...
Looks to me to be more like a door handle... no idea what off though

Annoyingly the exhaust blows straight onto the number plate rendering it all manky with in days... first prototype for a little angled stinger on the silencer...works great, so going to make a better fitting one with maybe a little more of a bend to it. Also removed the stock mirrors, as original as they were, they were useless, all I could see was my shoulders, so some bar end ones have went on. Will get some better photos of the bike as a whole soon.
