How about this as a road going super-tourer??? Admittedly it's actually just a super-tourer that's not had it's stickers put on yet, but still stunning if you ask me.

I thought a car produced before 1986 didn't need e-markings on it's headlights?

My dad got his first car in 1979, lasted until 1984/5 driving it then was stored, it changed owners in 2012 to me being driven as my first car although hopefully will be driven a bit longer by me. Still stays at home so he in a way still hasn't got rid of it (and still sometimes ends up doing the odd job on it). The upper picture was taken in 1981 when resprayed then again this summer when I visited.

Okay I agree that modern cars will have there day in 20-30 years and become classics and I'm sure that I will want when they do being a car from my generation but what will happen to the classic as we know today? where will the triumphs and MGs be in 20-30 years Well I don't plan on changing my car anytime soon (maybe add to the collection but not change) and my cars from 1957 despite me being 20. Classics will be around for a while yet, I know I'm not the only one my age with cars this old.

It survived when it was last on the road in the 80's.... I'm sure it'll be fine again. Only thing I'm worried about is the salt on the roads Paints not the best it could be! Besides, they've been in much worse

you'd pull it up to engage, but then it dropped back to the floor (still engaged mind you) so you could climb in/out of the car. Wish my handbrake like that, on an Austin A35 it's in the same place but works as a normal handbrake that stays up. I always somehow manage to clip it with my foot and knock it off as I'm getting out the car.

Do you mean you have a CB aerial and want to know if the thread on the base is the same as a car radio item ? Yeah pretty much and thanks for the answer will look into the CB mounts then.

It's only for a normal FM radio that I bought the other week (new one that will be hidden in the dashboard) but on the back I want a rather big silver metal/chrome aerial and I thought CB aerial is easier way to find one. There is no Cb radio in the car though. Just want to know if you can screw a CB aerial into a normal aerial thread. Hope this is making sense now?

Is anyone able to tell me if a tall car CB aerial will fit in the normal aerial thread? I would quite like to get one for my car but don't want to spend the money to find it won't work.
If it isn't a direct fit can you get adapters, and if so where abouts. My searches aren't uncovering much.
Thanks all.

Would like to see this A35 with a 106 engine, should give it a bit of power that it needs. I'm starting down the route of modified classic as my first car and so far my 2 year story has just reached the road 2 weeks ago, easy to do bits and pieces, simple to upgrade, just a little bit slow standard. Although a 1275 engine should drop in fairly easily. If you are interested, go onto the A30/A35 owners club forum and you can see what's been done to these. They range from 1275cc powered ones to turbocharged ones and then ones with engine swaps.

Well now mine is on the road, after it's second day driving I can appreciate the difference even more now. Definitely a bit of a difference between my A35 and yours.

Considered a Peugeot 405 estate? Plenty of room I would have thought along with presumably good MPG and fairly reliable as far as I know.
