metalmoth haha very true! Got on with some rollcage fitment things. The cage I bought was second hand so there was no fitting kit or mounting things, so I need to make them. The newer Safety Devices cages have a different design, but the image on their website gave me a rough idea what it should look like... So this is what I did...

I feel like this is a bit of a milestone, the driver side of the car is actually 'rust free'*. Now all I've got to do is weld in the plates for the rollcage, cavity wax, seam seal, schutz, underseal the hell out of it... and then move onto the passenger side. Thankfully the passenger side isn't half as bad (well from memory, lets hope my memory serves me correctly!) Inner sill to floor done Inner sill reinforcement part rebuilt (kinda) Cheap pattern sill skin to hide all the sins Goodwood Weekender is looking increasingly possible! *'rust free' merely means that there is no rust visible when the car is viewed from a distance of 10 metres or more. It's a term often used to sell rusty cars.

One of the coolest things on 4 wheels, good to see people bring them into the country. Amazes me how many old skool Datsuns/Nissans are coming out of the wood work, we've started selling loads more L-series bits at work because of the demand.

Some cool Sierras from my Instagram feed... The white saff is BMW M50 powered and the Mk1 fronted Saff has a 1JZ-GTE engine, continuing my believe that the best Sierras currently come from Eastern Europe and Russia! This BOA powered XR4i keeps getting better and better, love the cut away rear end and the rims rmad bought this one to my attention, the wheel covers are an awesome touch! Not sure if this is a legit RS Cosworth or just got a YB engine either way it's pretty lairy and comes from Turkey ...just need to get on with build my own 'cool' Sierra!

I've got a massive hard on for S30 chassis cars at the moment, reading this thread does not help. We keep selling bit for them at my work too which means I have to research them and it makes me want one more. Haven't got the time or space and most importantly the money lol.
Looks like an awesome car, love it!

Hellishly cool car, always love the C4 best 'Vette IMO. New wheels look superb too, rarely see these on decent aftermarket wheel. Top work!

...BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE (rust) Bottom of the B-pillar definitely not my finest work however it's solid and it'll get covered by the sill so, yeah don't look too closely Front section of floor more happy with this, getting there!

Wait ... what's happening now? Is this real? I believe you made a threat to refuse me entry to the Goodwood Weekender if I didn't arrive in a jelly mould, every little bit of encouragement helps.

With the spoiler at a slightly more sensible proportion to the rest of the car, I think it looks awesome. Nothing wrong with a big wing. Cool project

Utterly superb concept and the execution looks really good too. Glad it’s a Austin/BL/Rover mishmash rather than a drivetrain from a different marque. Superb work, following with interest!

qwerty thanks dude, looking forward to getting it road worthy too. Little bit more progress today... Bought a full face mask to protect my baby face from all the grinding sparks, literally the best thing I’ve bought! Why it’s taken me so long to buy one I’ve got no idea. Then I started to cut the grot out and replace it with fresh metal!!!! Mojo high, progress good, you never know it might be done before he decade is out...

bortaf definitely some dark/animal print forces at work lol! Speedle yeah my visits to the forum in recent years have been sparse, although I’m planning on that changing. But, yes I’m still alive, just older and fatter with less money, so this Sierra is going nowhere, mainly because the prices on them seem to be going up and I’m eternally skint.
