Yet another sierra thread...
I got this beautiful specimen in a trade, full old-man-spec in brown metallic with beige and brown interior and no extras.
Sadly some panels were slightly off hue, and there were some rust and dings so i decided to paint it.
Got some nice chinese wheels with it aswell.
As i have a few sierras laying around i decided to put a cossie front on it.
Yes, that's a moose and trump on the hood.
There was some drift damage as well, which had pushed the whole right rear fender inwards.
Here it is after the first night of welding and sanding..
I also put it through MOT, in the middle of prepping it for paint
The MOT inspector insisted it needed side markers.
And a non-broken front spring.
I made a guick tutorial on how to remove springs from struts.
It also lacked rear brakes. Like completely, no brake parts in the drums, no handbrake cable and the rear brake hoses were cut... No pics of that sadly.
Back to painting.
High-build filler, obviously from a spraycan.
The trunk lock was broken, so it got nice racey straps to hold it down. I also bolted a wing to it.
The lower part of the car got painted in RAL 8000, with a semi-gloss industrial paint called Norrapid 10
Bumpers got the same colour.
It's very handy to have a friend who's capable with a spraygun, thanks to Simon, and all other guys who helped make this a record-speed paintjob.
The rest of the car is painted with the same industrial 1-component paint, in ral 1001.
Obviously the paint didn't get many minutes of rest before the car was assembled..
The front lip is made from the cut down stock bumper, not sure how much i like it...
My snowmobile got a coat aswell
As the weird lights in the garage distort the colours alot, i took some beauty shots outside to show of the amazing colour combo for you.
Isn't it stunning?
I get loads of nice comments about it, mostly "looks like baby poo" and the likes.
