That looks lovəly, whərə did you gət thə whəəls? Ive worked out what the wheels are from, one of these In other news, I'm quite happy with how this is going. Its a bone shaker of course, the grill is blended into the original bonnet and the side of the body has been smoothed. No idea on colour or wheels yet, its only a light coat of primer so I can see if it need more milliput anywhere.

I don't do "really low". I don't like stretched tyres, and I am not a fan of camber. And yet, this whole package just makes me smile. I know it'll likely be a b!tch to drive and will be as practical as moving house using an MX-5, but I love the whole "cartoon" element of its looks. It's a proper giggle and will draw attention to it wherever it goes. I tip my cap to you sir Exactly 100% that. Its a bit like music where You don't have to like a particular genre to appreciate a certain song within that genre.

The only time I enjoy driving is when I'm out in the middle of nowhere. I live on the edge of town and theres miles and miles of countryside to enjoy, and I always enjoy it when ever I use it, even if my chosen carriage is a modern. I rarely see a bad road out there, or bad driving, and those 2 things are exactly what turn me off driving in a built up area. For the last couple of years ive seen far too many people simply driving with no respect for other road users, in a whole manner of ways. And the condition of the roads is chronic.

Years ago when I had my MG Maestro I changed the door cappings for Montego VP ones. The VP ones had a wood veneered strip in them, but I thought it wouldnt suit the rest of the MG interior, so I wanted them to look like textured plastic. The only thing I had to hand that would give a textured finnish was a can of stonechip, so I tried a light coat of that and went over it with satin black. No one could tell they weren't plastic, so mission accomplished I guess. Might help.

After a bit of a break from it I got back on it this week. Ive been doing little bits to it over the last few weeks and getting bits together like the nuts and bolts I needed and the metal to make the brackets. I didnt want to buy any metal, so was on the look out for an offcut the right thickness, eventually my uncle came up trumps so the bracket was made. Everybody loves brackets. It was a bit of a game to get the tight bends right with the tools I had because they were so close together, after a bit of faffing I got there and I'm happy with the result, it was important to get it right not just so that it looks right, but it closely follows the line of the arces so wouldnt have fitted otherwise. I lightly sanded them and waxed them after this pic, you can tell the difference, but youd never notice it. Other jobs that needed doing was to tidy up the headlights. Simply washing the lenses in soapy water sorted that out. The bodywork had various brackets had been straightened and were already been waxed so that was easily completed. I cant get the tires off the wheels to do the grub screw up on the rear wheels, so for now they are simply pushed onto the axle with a bit of tape around the axle. The front wheels should have special bolts on them with larger heads but i'll be lucky to find any. But for now, it was enough to take a leisurely drive across the kitchen floor. Ive still got to straighten the screen surround and make a screen for it, and fine tune a few bits, but i'll be taking it into work tomorrow to see what my boss thinks.

I would be interested to see how much prep goes into somethng like that citroen. How did you get on? BMCnut that picture is ace. I bet your old man spent the next few days pretending he wasn't stiff and he was fine and racing isn't dangerous at all. He said it hurt and he didnt know what day of the week it was after it, but the cine film gives no indication at all of quite how big it was. That pic gives me the impression it was a bit of a monster.

Not sure what happened there, but I can't seem to replicate it, other than physically copying them and pasting them in now. Thats a shame, those E's are good, E's are good.

Dispite what I said about whitewalls, thats my favourite one so far. I could see it working well in red oxide with white scallops. I think this should be the way forward now. Or curveball but still in keeping as I think the body lines would work with this paint treatment. As soon as I saw that my mind went into messing the 'moon' logo about with the audi badge logo.

Slacker that does work, so do you think remove the wing/door mirrors and replace with little round hot rod ones on the roof pillar would work or be wrong. I'm not sure that would work, I wouldn't try too hard with that. In other news a scallop would look great with those body lines. Dispite what I said about whitewalls, thats my favourite one so far. I could see it working well in red oxide with white scallops.
