ivangt6 allegedly said on another thread Time to get professional help, either that or get a couple of Corgis and make like the Queen. It is the preferred ride of the Windsors is it not?

This is the plan, can't see it all working out but start with good intentions!
Finish welding up the Opel Sintra by the end of February when it's got TÜV ( MoT). It's a load of graft for a worthless heap but I'm enjoying it surprisingly. Renault 21 Nevada will be thirty in August so I've got to spruce that up for its 'historical vehicle status' test.
Finish my 'deep background' project : a camper trailer to carry the roof tent that normally goes on the Cruiser. It has a slide out kitchen ( already finished) and the tent elevates +80cm on 12v linear actuators.
And with all the leftover time...
Finish building up the V6 and offer it up to the black Tigra. Yeah right!

I just read through the whole thread - good read and straight up business! We had a 1986 Opel Kadett Kombi D when I first moved to Germany in 2004. The same car as yours. It was economical and no nonsense but well used so didn't last.
Then I read your Bomber thread - great stuff.. I recall only ever seeing one out on the streets in the early 80s as they were quickly eclipsed by BMXs which everyone I knew ( except me sadly) seemed to have had. Raleighs became old hat around 1983 - the amount of Grifters and Choppers that I saw at jumble sales around that time!
I bought a blue Bomber from a junk shop in Fulham around '91 for twenty quid which my then girlfriend rode everyday from Brixton to Camberwell Art College. When she did a bunk I couldn't look at the bike so I gave it to my Dad who had just retired and that was his shopping bike. As it was pre-internet there was no way of finding parts so as things wore out - like the blue tyres and saddle - he just replaced them with whatever he could find and it ended up looking right mutant. I think he's still got it in the shed but he's in his mid 80s now - probably not the punter Raleigh had in mind when they designed it?

Great little cars, I had a 1.7 with ST150 front brakes and coilovers, it was hilarious to drive, just lacked a little on the straights. Infinitely better than a Tigra too! Oo er, as it's Christmas I'll go easy! Also it's Paul 's thread about his Puma. Apologies for the Tigra content. In their standard form it's the Corsa B ( Tigra) vs the Fiesta 4 ( Puma) and mechanically the Fiesta/Puma was maybe better ( certainly more power) but look at this rear three quarter picture from a design perspective.... If you drove - for ten minutes - the Tigra I put together for my wife last year, I think you'd feel differently. Carry on Puma fanatics!

Well done for getting it all together this far.
I'd be worried about letting that wild looking bunch you've got in there into my new kitchen - once they get a sniff of the mulled wine, things might get out of control!

Yes, with Tigra power is lacking but good with lows'n' leather . Head gaskets for breakfast, constantly need feeding with oil and coolant
How about some interior shots? 90s coupes 4ever

I think you'll need at least 60mm to get the effect - adjustable shocks. As for 'the Puma is a much better car' - being a Tigra devotee, I'll have to find a suitable response!

There's a purple Puma like this appeared around here recently - a very 90s colour. If it wasn't a direct Tigra rip off by Ford it was certainly inspired by it and aimed at the same market segment. It's meant to drive better in standard form than the Tigra? Article from '97 Lowering will improve everything.

I'm pretty content with the rust that I've got, though none of it's flash, it suits me. If I have to chose some tin on which to blow the winning wad, one of the small ones at the front would do, could just about squeeze that in between the Sintra and the Tigra :

mikeyp247 wrote Haha yes. There's only one way that Sintra prices are going! Looks like I've got myself a real investment, and the wife mocked me when I bought it, but who's laughing now eh? Like gold these Sintras. If the pervert that bought it is out there, please reveal yourself. I wanna have a closer look at that Irmscher grill baby ( I reckon the seller would have photographed it if he could have got it running to turn it round)

brothersgrimm said You could have them both. You'll need the Zafira still as the Sintra will never be on the road - it's like a large garden ornament.

The price is right, but if have To be some sort of masochist to dig deep and actually do it. Wouldn't I? They were sheet when they were new and over the years - unless properly maintained - got sheeter ( and the seller having 95.7% suggests some extra sheet) but when sorted are fast/comfortable family vans. Anyway, that's what I mutter to myself while endlessly fiddling with Frank Sintra. Oh Matron. I have had one glorious 600km run from Dresden in mine averaging 180kmph but often over 200kmph and the memory of that sustains me This must be one of two or three V6s left in the UK - according to last time I looked on 'How many left?' Many parts are still available in Germany as many of the survivors are being slaughtered right now . Same engine as the Omega. Cost an eye-watering thirty grand when new! C'mon, for a few ponies you can flagellate yourself silly! And join an exclusive Club. But, as Groucho Marx said, and as I often repeat : I wouldn't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member.

PSA XUD series - my personal experience is with the XUD9 1.9 normally aspirated diesel - as featured in Citroen BXs/Peugeots of the 80s/90s. Hard to remember what a breakthrough this engine was when it appeared in 1982 - converted many people to diesel as it was refined for the time. Robust and economical.
And it kept on going and going.. and when the car fell apart it was stuck in many boats. I have run three of these over the years and they're probably still running somewhere? ( Unless the cooling system got neglected)

hey, mikeyp247 thanks for the tip off. How's it going? I couldn't see anything on that link? This thread got a bit stuffed with the photo bucket saga so I started a new one - 'The Opel Coast' I'm still on it with the Tigras and V6s but doing V6 Sintra welding duty right now. I've actually got eight of those steelies now but not banded - that's coming. I wonder what happened to this banded set?
